A false 9.

Easy just play McTominay as the no9
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I probably would, to be honest.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why a false 9? Why not just play him the same way we are playing Rasmus. That we we are not having to adjust how we have been playing from an attacking perspective.

Guess this means Antony is back..

You can't make it up at this point. Hopefully we will have enough to get over line against an out of form Fulham. City away is going to be embarrassing yet again.

I genuinely can't wait for this miserable season to be done.

City is a free hit anyway and we didn't expect much from there surely. Perhaps no Hojlund makes it an easier decision to go full on defensive there.

I wonder whether we might play Forson through the middle tomorrow.

Probably not, but I reckon it's worth it to keep Garnacho and Rashford out wide where they're actually a goal threat. An obviously the alternative is Antony...

As for McT up front - can't see it. A lot of his goals have come more as a result of his 'box-crashing'. Being the spearhead is a different kettle of fish - presumably Ten Hag doesn't see it in him since he's never let him lead the line before.

Don't fancy us away at Forest now either.

As I say it...

I believe this account was the first to break Mainoo's start against Everton, so might be something in it.

That's why I'd probably prefer to see McT in the second striker/No10/AM role. With Bruno and Garnacho wide and Rashford down the middle. Not ideal of course but keep a goalscoring threat there.

This. He's great at arriving late in the box and taking advantage of the fact that defenders are preoccupied with neutralising the number 9. I don't see anything to suggest he can effectively play as a number himself.

We're better off putting Rashford up top and Garnacho on the left, then Antony or (my preference) Amad on the right.

I wonder if we'll see some rotating tomorrow and see Varane rested?

Something like:

Onana

Dalot
Maguire
Evans
Amrabat

Mainoo
Casemiro
McT

Garnacho
Bruno
Rashford

Amrabat should be OK at LB for this one (don't think he'd be a bad shout v City either if up against a left footer) and Fulham have Palhinha out so that's a blow to them.

Just seen the above post as well now and wouldn't be against the youngster Forson starting through the middle if Ten Hag wants to keep Rashford and Garnacho in position.

Rashford came in for Martial eight years ago didn't he. Is this Forson's big break?

Let's just throw Garnacho and Mainoo back into the 23's then, and give Hojlund and Martinez back. Sheet judgement that bloke.

What a relief. Reading the OP made me scared that he has followed the trend of United players... erm... taking advantage of women, so to speak.

Relieved that he's just injured
