Red card for violent conduct rule

Entirely depends whether or not your name is Casemiro

Dermit Gallagher will just agree with whatever the ref decided, even if it contradicts the rules or an identical refereeing decision given the other way.

We need Dermot Gallagher & talkSports to clarify it asap.

+++++

More like Peter Sutcliffe.

Didnt you all moan it should not have been a red at the time?

So you want poor decisions to be repeated the following season.

Cry some more and get over it

Or could you say the complaint is the inconsistency of the refereeing decisions? I have no real opinion either way on both calls but do you not think that it should be the same for both?

Yes i do. Inconsistency is one of the most annoying things about refs. I can accept a bad decision from time to time as it is a judgement thing and a tough job.

But i thought the Casemiro red was harsh, borderline red. So i would not expect every similar situation to be treated the same.

2 wrongs do not make a right. Call the Casemiro decision a poor decision and hope for consistent better decisions in future! not continued poor decisions for the sake of consistency,

No, the Casemiro shouldn't be a red card if you watch the whole clip instead of a cut image.

The one yesterday should be more of a red card.

It’s just mental that VAR looked at it, should know the rules and obviously are aware that similar incidents have pretty much all been given a red and then decided nothing needed to be done. I’m pretty sure any violent conduct such as a hand around an opponents throat is a clear red?

It’s the total lack of continuity and accountability that frustrates fans. Then you have Gallagher on TV who will agree with any ref decision even if the opposite happens the week before and Gallagher agreed with that. You wonder why no one has any respect for refs.

Firstly, no. I thought the Casemiro one was probably a red at the time. And I thought yesterday should have been - grabbing a player by the throat is violent conduct.

But also, this argument really only holds water if there was some widespread agreement that the Casemiro decision was incorrect. The consensus at the time was that it was completely the right call - all of a sudden we're saying it wasn't to excuse the Forest player? Yeah, OK.

No mention of scoring the same goal which was ruled out on Sunday in the final?

inconsistency is disgusting they just make it up depending on what they wanna do vs what team on the day. One of the most inconsistent things now is dissent, some are booked for looking at the ref in a wrong day others like KDB the last one i remember, allowed a 3 minute rant in the refs face.

posted on 29/2/24

dissent, even low levels, got an instant yellow in the first part of the season.

Now it's subjective and you see players have a full on rant and it's ignored.

Its always the same with these new rules. VVD got an extra ban for protesting and not leaving the pitch after a but you see players all the time doing this.

Same with time-wasting. I saw a Spurs player booked for taking time on a throwing when we were losing.....so of course he wasnt deliberately wasting time. Now, there is no urgency to play quickly and very rarely is anyone booked.

I'm glad he wasn't red carded. Let's hope he scores the winner v Liverpool.

Also, the Van Dijk offside goal and Casemiro's last night were different. Endo interfered whereas Varane didn't. Correct decisions both of them.

nonsense, Varane interfered far more than end did he actively sought out the forest player and pushed him to the ground, Endo stood still and colwil ran into him ffs

Not sure why LFC fans are still moaning about the weekend. They won ffs. Chelsea moaned less about a Liverpool goal in a CL semi final that didn't cross the line!

cos we're football fans first and foremost and want more fair and consistent decisions and want our refs to do much better for the good of the game?

Not sure why Chelsea would moan. It was better conceding the goal that getting a red card and penalty against.
