I mean yay, he’s won an award, but the season isn’t over, and we’ve not exactly achieved anything yet!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did you honestly expect us to win something this season? Changing the complete playing style of the club, for the better. Integrating a lot of new players and a few regulars to a new playing style takes time, plus we lost Kane who would be almost impossible to replace in a like for like manner.
Think Ange has done a first rate job and the season is not yet over.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well we’re definitely not going to win anything THIS season, due to our frankly laughable attempts at the domestic cups.
And let’s qualify for next seasons Champions League before we start handing out plaudits and awards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, imagine being knocked out of a cup by Man City, while missing Bissouma Sarr Son and Maddison. Pathetic from Spurs!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn’t have to imagine it.
Excuses for The Carabao Cup?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"due to our frankly laughable attempts at the domestic cups"
This was your statement. Usual broad brush excessive criticism.
Fulham away was a disappointment but nothing more. What was it, our 3rd game under Ange, away at a PL team and lost on penalties. Hardly "laughable". Not a great performance on the night and disappointing early exit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In other words, you don’t actually care.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course i care.
I just do not think it was a laughable performance in the circumstances.
If we had gone out to a lower league team fair enough, pathetic. But we were very early stages of a new regime so i personally was not expecting perfection or to beat another PL away from home.
If that fixture was today, say that was our 4th round FA Cup draw then i would have been expecting a much better display and result.

He’s done ok, nothing more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we get CL then he's done good.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
considering we ended 8th last season, top 6 is a decent result.
But given how well we have played, expectations and hopes are much higher.
Top 4 will be a fantastic achievement, given the adversity we have faced from November to February.

And still continue to face. Fecking Richi and Porro out, Udogie questionable. New manager bounce for Palace too, as opposed to getting them a few weeks back, same as meeting Brentford just after they are galvanized by Toneys return rather than when he was out and they were crap. These seem like trivial things, but they do make a difference.
indeed. After the first 10 games of the season, not much has gone our way really.
That said, players need to step up and show some of that early season form

Top 6 would be a decent effort from where we were last season though tempered by the fact we underperformed in the cups, something that I expected much better at given our lack of Europe.
Top 4 is definitely a good achievement from the new manager in his first season.

It doesn't seem to have galvanised them that much, they've lost 5 out of 6 since he returned. I guess to be fair they have had tough fixtures but then they also got beat 4-2 by West Ham.
We can't keep making excuses though. Palace at home has to be a win with or without our first team full backs and Richy.
Should have been Moyes. Who voted for this?
