FfP is a disgrace

Both clubs have entered in admistration this century already.

2002 for Leicester and 2007 for Leeds.

In 1982 Wolves went bust as well. I'm sure Cinci remembers.

If Ffp can prevent such embarrassment in the future, I'm sure we can agree it is a good thing?

It is a nonsense. We keep hearing how clubs are doomed, how many have actually gone that way, just about none. If you have owners that want to spend then they should be able to so long as they have the finances to do so which should be pretty easy to sort out.

This now has just closed the door and the prem is doomed as a competition from here on out. Villa look good right, nope, they are in huge financial trouble with ffp so there goes their chance to break the big six domination. Newcastle, oooohhh owned by arabs. can spend to compete, nope. not allowed now so they are wasting their time. Absolute feckin farce.

Looks like they may have just added our name into that story to get more clicks. Hopefully so.

am somewhat concerned by this article which states that Leeds fall foul of the FFP rules? I thought we were OK?

LUFC as a club, only have to fleeting think about FFP misdemeanors, let alone commit them, to have the Football authorities dish out a multi point deduction. - Nothing to worry about.

I hadn’t read the Sun link so I have read it just now. That article says IF Leicester, Leeds and Southampton broke the rules they could still be promoted. Soooo I am hoping the article I have copied on here has just put 2 and 2 together to make 5?

Here is the link:

This is what is actually says about Leeds:

"If any of last season’s relegated clubs — Leicester, Southampton and Leeds — broke rules in 2022-23, they could be promoted back to the Prem before a case was brought."

I'm really not sure how this is interpreted as Leeds falling foul of FFP rules.

As I replied to LIW, after I have read the Sun article it doesn’t say we have fallen foul of FFP, but the article I read and posted on here from caughtoffside says

“The report also hints that Leeds United could have breached the rules as well.

The top 2 spots have become of even more significance now for Leeds and Leicester as it could help them avoid the points deduction this season due to the confusion regarding the rule.”

I see the important word here is “could” and I will now stop worrying as it seems that caughtoffside has made something out of nothing.
