Wildsmith and Smith. Not sure what Thommo really brings other than energy. I suppose he might grow into a role in a decent Champ team if we ever get one. Hourihane might actually be more effective in the Champ too ironically. But perhaps a luxury. Sibbz has had enough chances for me. If he has a good consistent run to the end of the season then maybe. Love Fozz and hope he has a role to play. But probably need a realism check. Colllo is an interesting one. I like Barkz too.
As you say it all depends on which division we're in but
Joe Wildsmith,
Liam Thompson,
Korey Smith
James Collins
Tommo doesnt bring that much, because he's never really given the chance to show what he can do 🤔

Agree with you there Ang, I believe he has a future with the club but he has to take his chances when they come along
Yep but that’s partly the conundrum Ang. How long do you give someone? Unfortunately he got the injury at the wrong time and now we’re in make or break territory. Can we take the risk? He’s cheap enough to keep on the books and if we don’t make it up, maybe he’ll have a role to play next year for longer.
Joe Wildsmith,
Liam Thompson,
Korey Smith,
Louie Sibley,
James Collins
Fozzy for another year, depending on fitness 🤔
Regardless of where we may be it all depends on resources (financial) and alternative availability. We will definitely need new strikers and midfielders anyway but if suitable replacements are unavailable I would want to keep Thommo, Collo and probably Gayle; also Smith and Sibs. Of the rest, Wildsmith is a must and Fozzie a maybe. The biggest enigma for me is Barks. On his day he's as good as anyone but he is very inconsistent and prone to disappear for long periods in games.
How long has Washington got ? 🤔

Could be describing Sibley there.
Sorry to change subjects I will bring it back to the post.
Barnsley vs Bolton - are we happy with a most probable Barnsley win? Or would a draw be preferred?
...can't see Hourihane staying...on £12k pw apparently...so I feel Warne will feel he can get someone else, as good for less.
I agree with Chicago... Barks for me is way too inconsistent...but then again the same could be said of many of the players...especially Sibs...
Interesting, Bolton for all their good form have only won 3 times in the last nine games ( including the current match )
On balance a draw is probably best. But if Barnsley lose their game in hand we’re all level (Barnsley winning 2-1 at time of writing)
Based on us achieving promotion, I think we need a big cull and can't become too sentimental on the players.
I'm not sure Wildsmith is going to be able to hack it at Championship level. Barks and Hourihane have both flattered to deceive, regarding Hourihane I think it's time he moved into coaching with Villa. I wasn't sure if that would distract him this season and it's certainly possible it has.
Of those to keep Id say yes to Thompson as he's still raw has time to develop....and a resale value. Same with Sibley but only on reduced wages....which would appear unlikely.
I'd also consider Smith as he may well be a good option at Champ level.
Dwight Gayle is unknown at present but if it stops some of our youngsters from breaking through I'd prefer an Academy player such as Brown or Weston to have a chance. Or get someone younger in who could offer us 2-3 years and be sold on.
We've really got to think about what it is we're doing once in the Championship ( going with positive thoughts and not the wishy washy , if we do 😉) We certainly need to be finding players that can be sold on after 2 seasons and rebuild. A team to battle against relegation in season one, consolidate in season 2 and build our way up in the following seasons whilst making profit from player sales.
Is that too much to ask for Derby? A self functioning football club that's generating enough revenue to cover its day to day expenses.
FT 2 1. Still 2nd on GD. Bolton same games as us, Barnsley 1 game in hand...interesting...

.. and we drop down to 3rd...1 point behind Bolton and 2 ahead of Barnsley...
Bolton's equaliser a rebound from a saved penalty in the 9ith minute, the penalty won by Rams legend Cameron Jerome.
I'm.happy with the draw at Barnsley.
As for the contracts, it'll depend where we are and whos in charge.
I'd keep Sibley and Thompson as they're still young. The rest are all OK but can be replaced.
Well. Still plenty of games to go... but those against Pompey and Bolton look very important....
