Ten Hag Flip-Flopping

I don't get why any of you rate him, dreadful manager. Gets OK results against bottom 12 teams but comes up short against every decent side. Spent an absolute fortune on dross that will need replacing.

Look fam, I’m for keeping Ten Hag, just to save INEOS a headache.. I’m saying give him a chance working under a good regime/culture.

But I totally get it if they sack him. The only reason I’m saying to keep him is to see, if there’s immediate impact of working with smart people, and just not hitting the panick button as we have done this last decade.

Now, there’s arguments/excuses why it hasn’t worked out, Player bust ups, Injuries, players loss of form, and working under a Glazer tool. Etc etc, but Ten Hag hasn’t helped himself.
Put aside the dishonourable records he’s broken in his short time… for me it comes down to this, The lack of player improvement, and the lack of in game management. Sometimes it’s just been borderline naive.

3qtrs of the season gone, and we still seeing the same issues, and I just don’t get it.
He must know by now the squad he has are not good enough, but doesn’t seem to figure that in.

I saw Ole’s interview and he was saying, he wanted to shift gears from the counter-attacking team we were, the players wanted to do it… but they couldn’t, but he still persisted. Fall on yer sword and go back to what was working for you and the team, and it just seems Ten Hag is making the same mistakes.

Poor man management and no style of play. Most of all, he consciously brought in Antony, Onana, Malacia and Mount. Not sure what he has to do to get the sack.

Seems to have the charisma of a slightly malfunctioning robot.

I think he's a good coach, not helped by a poorly put together squad. But some of those signings have been his own.

Has he done enough good work to look back on at the end of the season? I don't think so. Wouldn't blame the new leadership if they moved him on.

I flip flop too... At the moment i'm in team flop... I just don't see it happening for him.

At least with Ole, we'd have a crack at the big teams and often get a result.

I think we need a fresh start. Ten Hag isn't totally at fault for our current situation, in fact he's a small part of the bigger picture.

The biggest concern for me is I don't see what he's trying to accomplish in terms of a system or style of play.

I've been flip flopping myself, about whether or not to renew my season ticket, because the football is crap, the players play as if the don't care and I end up spending most of the games talking with those around me.

If players really are downing tools on managers then I'm not sure how anyone will succeed with said players still at the club.

No real improvement in play, he got lucky last year, and we aren’t in a good position this year. But I’m also not totally adverse to him starting next season as a make or break. Would depend on the alternatives

2 seasons is objectively the correct amount of time to judge a football player or manager.

Though the football was quite boring, I felt LvG was unfairly dismissed.

Jose and OGS had their two seasons and it wasn't really going anywhere. Unless ETH can deliver top 4 then I'll join the times up brigade. I'll remain ETH in for the remainder of the season however

Still just about in the keep him camp especially with some of the possible replacements being touted.

I'm pretty much with you Diafol. Flip flopping.
Regarding signings, the only one I really blame him for is Antony. Onana is improving, Mount not had much of a chance, Malaccia also and he doesn't look terrible.
Also Lisandro and Rasmus very good.
The injury situation has been bad all season.
Selection and subs, how do we know, we all have different view points.
I'm happy to see him continue, and equally happy if we get someone else.

And I'm a fan top or bottom of the table. No team is great all the time.

Yes. I wouldn't be heartbroken if he leaves but also don't really want to see another manager sacked either really. I guess these last few months will be an audition. He, and the team, have to show something.

Although he may be a good continuity candidate as the new owners make behind the scenes changes to the set up, the downside of that is that as he is not getting a tune out of certain key players, will that wasted time just continue into next season.

Also, how does a summer transfer strategy work with a manager who is effectively on his last chance. If he fails and you end up with 2 more Antonys, then tidying up from his legacy becomes even harder.

I'm not convinced by the manager and his signings apart from Martinez have been mediocre for the most part.

However, if we are going to get rid of him, players have got to go as well.

posted on 7/3/24

I don’t care if stays or goes. But part of me wants the new boys to keep him and prioritise player recruitment ahead of managerial change as a sign that player power will be wrestled back.

Agree with this

If we can’t make top 5 then he should go or how low do we set the bar, at the same time I’m indifferent to it unless an outstanding candidate emerges which in my opinion isn’t Potter or Southgate.

If he stays he should have zero input on transfers and just be told to coach what he is given.

As others have posted some players should be shown the door and the rest given a wake up call from Sir Jim.

Another season next year as bridesmaids but hopefully the slide stops.

If he wants another season he has to earn it. He has now until may to get United season back on the rails which should be helped on the back of the feel good factor and the new confidence in the future that the INEOS takeover has had on the Club. That will mean the FA Cup or Champions League qualification. If he doesnt get either of those them, then he has to go... and also a number of the big time Charlie players can go too. Even if it means losing money on them.

Most of us will still be fans and supporters if we finish with nothing, or get something out of this season. So I vote for trying to get something over writing the rest of thi season off. Which will mean winning almost all of our remaining games. Over to the terrible management, coaching and playing staff.

I hope he succeeds like I’ve done with every manager post SAF but I’m not seeing it.

Style of play is awful, signings mainly awful, +12 goal difference in the league since he took over and finally for me the most damning stat of all:

Only 2 teams in the league have conceded more shots this season.

United went 29 games away, including a whole PL season, without losing a game under Ole. Think about that. That is facking incredible.
