As much as the gooons on here are annoying, Arsenal have gone about things the right way. Paid for a stadium, stuck by a manager, play youngsters, bought well and play some good stuff.
I would prefer they won the league over City or Pool. Their fans are insufferable as my sister is married to one (it's just not the gooons on here that are annoying, teust me) but they can save football from Abu Dhabi City and Klanfield.

Well, Liverpool have too IMO.
Its just that as United fans we would prefer Arsenal to win it over City or Liverpool.
I think you can understand why that might be.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I get it completely, but was just questioning the justification the Mudd gave, as it equally applies to Liverpool.

Are you really a Liverpool fan if you're wondering why United fans would prefer anyone but you? And yes, I know it's sad we're not competing at present.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It shouldn't be so clear cut between City and Liverpool though. I'll give you Arsenal, but wanting City ahead of Liverpool is a bit eyebrow raising, especially with the way City have gone about things and being your derby.
Liverpool have stayed true. Doesn't that count?

I guess with Liverpool it's not just the rivalry but the number of league titles. If they win again they will be level on 20 each.

Meant as tongue in cheek. Get over yourself!
Frankly I'm not really bothered, I just like watching. I've written before about the first away game on my own, in '62 I think, a cup game we won. I got a genuinely warm welcome, and help of two blokes.
Plus we both like the waterfront, Mrs52 likes John Lewis and I like looking at Georgian architecture. Luckily she doesn't like the Beatles. I used to do Couch surfing, and everyone wanted taking to the Beatles museum, only the first time is good.
My golfing mate is a true blue, as was his dad,, we had plenty of banter but no arguments. Plus they've done a lot for East Manchester.
Arsenal, no strong viewpoint, a well run club, good stadium, Wenger was a great manager, and they had plenty of players I admired.
So, Voilà, no hates.

Hardly.
For a start, any sporting competition should be won by the best in the competition. And that's clearly MCFC - it's not even really that close, despite what the current table might suggest.
Secondly, more subjectively (and more boringly because of that) I can't stand either lfc or afc.
Frankly, I'll always feel that, if MUFC, the greatest sports club in the country, don't win the league, then it can be any club other bar those two.
Simple really.
