Well, down to earth with a bang today. Did Northampton deserve to win.. well no... but we simply weren't good enough all over the park. No excuses. We just weren't up for it IMO. We created little of note and were caught offside so many times. Equally we didn't win any 2nd balls and the crosses that we put into their box were won easily by the home team and I think if we were playing until next Friday we wouldnt have scored. Not sure what Bradley did to get sent off ... but it didnt really matter...So here we are back to square one again...

It gives me no pleasure to be right but I did warn you. Be a pessimist and avoid disappointment.

How very disappointing.

I had a bad feeling about this one but I did not expect such a poor display in which no-one except maybe Wilson played well. If you fail to take two gilt-edged opportunities in an attritional game then you are not likely to win.

The wind and pitch did not help but, no excuses we were simply not good enough and looked nowhere near a team in second place. Re their goal Wilson was definitely fouled in its build up and Bradley should have done much better than offer a pretty feeble challenge but equally Wilson got away with a clear handball in his own penalty area in the second half. What the heck Bradley was doing to get sent off I do not know and I thought he looked shaky throughout. Was their goalie troubled at any time? Maybe twice with difficult crosses but no shots to deal with all game. We lost this is midfield and PW left his subs too late this time.

Bolton and Portsmouth will be laughing all night!
