South Americans. 😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's hardly sh!t, just made of glass 🙁
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Twas a little joke my friend.
You're right though.....he's good when he is available. But sadly that's nowhere near enough.
We need to buy a whole new defence this summer. He can't be relied upon at all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
*Sigh*
We're such a mess.
Are there many arguments left for keeping him?
++++
Yes. The chance that if United bring in a DoF who knows what he is doing in his last job, it almost certainly would mean his talent would tricke down to the current first team trainer, who previously has proven himself to be pretty ineffective.
I should have mentioned also that he has promoted youth well.

Pretty much every manager post SAF. ETH has essentially promoted 2 youth players who would be breaking through under any manager imo.
But that’s because of the squad we have. He’s been responsible for us doing that, but that’s due to the failures in recruitment, injuries and reliance on Bruno and Rashford. And we’ve a squad of defenders that cannot stay fit for any length of time that struggle defending with space behind them.
I think he can still lean into exploiting transitions, but change the way we defend and set up in midfield if the signings and fitness allow it, as we weren’t even setting up this way every week last season.
That’s not a reason to keep him, of course, I just don’t think he’s wedded to this way of playing. Whoever comes in is going to need a lot of changes in the squad anyway to radically change things. These players are incapable of the sort of football you want us to play, and we force managers to become more cautious, as a result, because the pressure to win matches is huge.
I’d quite like to see what we’d do to Bagelsmann if he tried setting this group up like he did with his other teams. Took Ten Hag two games to throw it out the window, I reckon Bagelsmann would do it at ht after getting torn apart in the first half of the first game.

He introduced them wisely, minutes at a time. Gave Rasmus backing when he wasn't scoring.
I can't think of defender brought through by another manager. Not sure who brought McT through. It's not like our first team is full of academy players.
The frustrating thing for me is how he trains the whole squad, not just the first 11, so the shape of the team and the understanding of how we want to play should still be at least a little bit evident, just perhaps to a lesser standard or less moments of individual quality from those missing players.
In fact, even a manager that joins a team on day 1 and sets a bunch of complete strangers up, I don’t get how if the gaps between our midfield and defence, or midfield and attack are as big as they sometimes are, I would expect some tweaks to be made by the next game to try and change that.
If any of our midfielders joined any of the shiyte sides we’ve played against and been dominated by in the middle of the park, I’d expect them to be able to follow the instructions and at least hold their own in that teams system. So why the fck do we get completely overrun every week no matter how far down the table our opposition is?
ETH deserves 2 seasons before judgements are made. I am ETH in till the end of the season then I'll give my opinion. Same rule applies to players

It's because the manager genuinely believes what he's doing is working and it's the reason we keep getting outplayed by pretty much every team we face.

he even admiitted at Brentford, post match, that he had no idea whatsoever why his players often play so badly
99% of football think the same.
We should be set up to be compact and a good counter attacking team. That's all we are good for.
If he wanted us to become a top passing team that controlled games then why did he sign Casemiro? He's one of the biggest reasons we surrender the ball every 30 secs. Him and Bruno are Central midfielders who are meant to be our calmest players on the ball and they are anything but.
Rashford and Garnacho are trying to make stuff happen, and often failing, because there's literally nothing happening in midfield apart from with young Mainoo and he can't be expected to carry us.
The set up of the team is an absolute joke and the sooner we get a new manager who can spot this, the better off we will be.

Irony of complaining about being filtered after being called out previously for hiding behind a filter themselves. (Whilst not knowing how the filter button works)
Looking back I see you are wrong on that too. When I said you called people idiots etc, I wasn't referring to myself.
I won't see you response in any event, but filtering is the right thing for me.
For me, ETH is now becoming too much part of the problem, rather than the answer. I'm not sure the players are truly with him and would run through brick walls for him - you get that feeling with most of the other top sides.
I wouldn't say they have downed tools, but do they really believe in what ETH is trying to do, and in all seriousness, does ETH really know/believe in what he is doing. His effort is there, but he just looks lost - I actually think for everyone's sake, it's best he goes, even if he won the Cup - the long term strategy isn't working under him, and there are too many things to fix which are linked to him.
I would also add that if someone new comes in and it doesn't work out, that doesn't mean getting rid of ETH was wrong, it just means the next guy wasn't right either, but we can't be afraid to make that mistake.
As I’ve said, if they got rid of EtH, I’d understand it.
I think there are cases to be made why he should stay, and why he should go.
But I’m saying he should stay, but must hit the ground running next season. Obviously that has to do with the Players he has going into next season.
In the grand scheme of things, 2 years in the job isn’t long enough. And it’s not like UTD the club are a well oiled machine. But, let’s see how he responds to working with football minded people behind the scenes.
