I fancy us at home to Arsenal and away at Chelsea - I could see 4 points from those games. If we beat Forest, Burnley, Sheff U, take a point at Newcastle and get 4 points from the others then that leaves us on 71. United would have to win 8 from 9 to catch us - that ain’t happening in my opinion

Strike can't win. On the one hand he's not allowed to say it's in the bag and on the other, he's not allowed to say we could be caught.

I think if United lose on Sunday and we win then that's 12 points ahead with seven to play. We can lose four matches back to back and still be ahead on goal difference, even if they win every game. I won't be worried about United unless they beat Liverpool and we stumble at home to Forest.
I'm thinking more about Villa. How catchable are they? They've got a max of 3 difficult games left, we have 5. I can't quite see us getting there personally. We'd need at least two of those tricky fixtures to be wins to make that happen. That's why I'm relying on the coefficient thing. Although saying that, now that I know that the system is changing and that we can't drop into the Europa League from the CL, part of me would rather be in a competition we can win, rather than making up the numbers in a league of giants.
Just please get results v Arsenal and city. Thank you in advance
The United loss did us one favour yesterday. I still maintain that we will probably come out of these tougher games in not so bad shape, as more than likely we'll raise our game. Even if we don't, we still have a couple of outs. Villa can mess up their games, and 5th place might well be enough for CL anyway.

We've actually got a really good record against the top six this year. Logic says that if you struggle against lower teams, you're going to really struggle against the higher ones but the tactical difference means we should have more space in behind, which is where we tend to get joy. Saying that, we are definitely weaker than we were in the first half of the season so defensively we could get torn to shreds. That's why I think we can nick a draw here and there but not wins.

I just don’t think we will catch Villa, I felt that after the Fulham loss. They have the bit between their teeth and Emery is canny, he will get them through the run in and they will finish a couple of points in front of us

Thanks, people post entire season predictions on here yet me discussing what I think we might do over the final 9 games is too much of a stretch - you couldn’t make it up.
I just don’t think we will catch Villa, I felt that after the Fulham loss. They have the bit between their teeth and Emery is canny, he will get them through the run in and they will finish a couple of points in front of us

Don't rise to it. They're not contradicting you because you're wrong, they just want a reaction. Just ignore them.
