Yates is a bit of a t0sser no doubt and I didn't want Maddison sent off as I wanted Spurs to win but that was stupid by Madds, imo he was lucky that he didn't get a red, that said when he didn't get the card I was happy enough

Am I only the only Spurs boy starting to think that Maddison is a bit of a t1t?

Had he been sent off (as he should of been) we would probably of lost and he would have been out for 3 games.

What with this and his upset over his darts celebration being mocked I'm starting to think he's one of those fackers who can dish it out but can't take it.

Our discipline is not good at times. Another game and Maddison might have seen red for that and we'd have likely dropped points. I'm glad it wasn't a red, not just for our sakes but for the sake of football cause it's barely anything and Yates encourages it, but you know what these officials can be like now.

Maddison is the most fouled player in the league. It's no wonder he snaps from time to time. We all would. That Yates is an arrrrsehole. He's a modern day Robbie Savage. No discernible talent, just a shiiiithouse of the highest order.

There's no way that is a sending off for me. It wasn't a punch, it was a light jab to the stomach. He went down like it was a punch.

Not sure what's happened to Maddison of late. He's just not the same player. Same for Bissouma. The reason why we were so good in those first 12 games was because those two were on fire. They've both dipped hugely since coming back and that's why games are more of a struggle.

This is a such an embarrassing attempt to defend Maddison. Someone who clearly doesn't know the rules of the game.

I would imagine Ange will have a word with Maddison about that.

As for Yates, it feels like he is trying to do the whole captain we must fight for everything routine, I will lead by example. The problem is that by Prem standards he is dog schitt so instead he affects games by being super fit and clogging everything in sight. He is an average Championship level player, but he is their mr 100%. He is also an absolute weapon, which I think the ref and VAR realised, hence why they let it go for Maddison

Bissouma was atrocious yesterday, couldn’t play a 5 yard pass. Maddison has dipped in form but is still effective. Bissouma going off swung the game back in our favour and Forest looked lost in that second half after ending the first half strongly.

As they said on MoTD yday, if it was Romero or someone with a bad reputation they would have been off. Madders defo got away with one yday. It was foolish.

He needs to buck his ideas up as well and start producing something too. Our midfield is our biggest weakness right now.

I’m glad Maddison didn’t get a red despite not particularly liking him.

Yates and Gibbs-White take playacting to a whole new level.

Bissouma contrubuted well for our first goal but he wasn't atrocious. That's too strong but he is not good enough in the long run. We need a 6 footer in the DM role.

I want to see Sarr given a chance.

Maddison does need to step up. A few weeks ago he said he felt like almost back to his pre-injury levels, and yet here we are and he's still not back to those levels. His place for England isn't even guaranteed either so there's that as well.

At least MGW has talent though, there is nothing redeeming about Yates - he is not adequate for this level so just acts the khunt

What's the rule that means it was a clear red? I'm not saying you're wrong but if you're saying someone else clearly doesn't know the rules of the game can you point to the correct rule?

I think it was stupid of Maddison and at the time thought he should've seen red and Yates a second yellow for calling for VAR.

In hindsight I actually think it should've been a yellow for Maddison, but it's a little subjective - and VAR can't advise the ref to award a yellow.

Maddison's woes reflect Spurs position overall IMO.

Managers have had a good chance to look at us and determine how to stop us and how to hurt us.

Madders pulls the strings so gets special attention now and he is kicked an awful lot. He needs better protection from refs. That said, he wasnt great yesterday, lost possession a fair bit. He looks a bit pasty to me. I think he'll up his game when we get some sunshine

Guys………..there are no rules in football, however there are 17 immutable Laws in the game.
Law 12 states the following: strikes or attempts to strike (including head-butt).

This offence should in virtually ALL situations result in a player being dismissed from the field by the referee. Although a “soft punch” it is still a punch and yes, Maddison was lucky. I do think that the referee erred on the side of caution in terms of discipline.
Also in a previous incident a few years ago V West Brom, Dele punched Claudio Yacob in the stomach which was missed by all the officials and no VAR then either. The FA charged Dele and he was suspended, however the FA cannot interfere in the Yates/Maddison incident as the referee was seen to deal with it at the time.

Agree…………but then he also bottled booking Yates until after his fourth foul and then sending him off for simulating the VAR signal to the referee.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I just don't think this is quite right. The relevant section in Law 12 states:

"VIOLENT CONDUCT

Violent conduct is when a player uses or attempts to use excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball, or against a team-mate, team official, match official, spectator or any other person, regardless of whether contact is made.

In addition, a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible."

I would argue it's at the very least subjective as to whether Maddison used 'excessive force or brutality', with a small jab to the stomach.

It was stupid, and he could have seen red. I just don't think it's as black and white as some are saying.

Disregard his comment in response to me. He's a moron. His only goal is to contradict me. That's it. That's how he gets his kicks.

In all honesty, that Madison thing could have gone either way. Could be a red, could be a yellow but Luka won't let reason get in the way of his desire to get at me. I've filtered him again. I've had enough if it. If he can't just get involved in debate without these stupid barbed comments, to hell with him.

Blokes an absolute priiiick constantly being contrarian no matter how moronic the take is. If he is a true Spurs fan then Ryan Yates is a world class footballer.
