Maguire vs Murphy grudge match next

They seemed civil when they played each other two years ago in this event so maybe it has mellowed down a bit.

From his interview on Eurosport last night, Maguire made it sound like they went way back and it didn't feel like there was animosity between them?

From what I remember Murphy and Maguire competed at the Grand Prix in 2004 and Maguire left his chalk and came back. In the mean time, Murphy spoke to the ref and Maguire ended up have a frame docked.

Maguire ended up smashing him anyway and soon won the UK title and shot up the rankings. However, the same season Murphy ended up surprisingly winning the World Title.

Maguire then beat him some match and said they hate each other. Then Flat Tyre Maguire ended up saying he needs to lose weight and doesn’t want to be a fat world champion. I think we all know who he was referring to.

although being a fat world champion's got to be beating a fatter non world champion I'd have thought

lol, the way flat tyre thought it was a complete formality that he would win the world title never sat well with me and I didn’t like him at the time.

However, recently he has been better and I don’t mind him that much anymore.

I've bumped into Maguire a couple of times in Glasgow and he came across as an ok decent bloke. I guess he has calmed down a bit over the years.
I can imagine Murphy would do my nut in a bit though.

I think Murphy was treated really harshly in the late 2000s and recently has been finally getting the respect he deserves.

However, he’s another that just talks way too much nonsense.

I wonder if there's anyone alive who's independently had fist fights with Murphy and Maguire (or with any 2 professional snooker players).

It was after Hann had a minor altercation with Andy Hicks at the world championships and I think Hann challenged him to a fight. I'm sure Andy Hicks is quite slight compared to Hann, so King said he would take him on. I think Hann won

Basically all this proves is that 2004 was the best ever year in snooker history.
