Apologies Shaun. Must have hit the articles at the same time

Very sad news, him and phillips, are the two players who Bielsa got the most out of.

Ended up being a top player

Lot of time for the man, part of the family. Scorer of one my favourite recent goals.
Integral part of the Championship winning squad and seems a lovely warm guy to boot.
Wish him all the best in his retirement.

Love Dallas. I know this is tough for him in this moment.
But, he's always come across as very smart. I read that
while trying to recover he got his coaching badges.

Great. Think he'll make a great coach/manager. Life's
too short to let a physical setback like this derail what
was always going to be a successful next chapter.

He'll do very well post playing days. Thanks for being
a rock solid, entertaining player. One of my faves.

Cheers Stuey.

yeah no surprise really.. wish him well.

amazing how Bielsa got so much out of him tbh.

doubt very much he'd of become the 'part of the family' without Bielsa's input, was bang average, and turned into a very good player for us.

I do hope he's good enough in the capacity they want him play at Leeds for the future though. Depends which role they want him for. I was always lead to believe he was a bit of a negative personality, not knocking him - just something I heard from KP, when the players were lining up to perform drills for MB, he was always at the back of the line complaining he had to do it.

of course this could have been in jest, just my experience of sports teams and you always get these sorts.. defo not coaching material if thats the case.

not trying to pour cold water on Dallas at all, just something that stuck with me for whatever reason

I must admit, the longer it went on, the more doubt I had that Stuey would take to the field again. And, to be honest, time stands still for no man so he was unlikely to get up to speed for Championship level, never mind, the Prem (where we'll be next season!).
Dallas, Ayling, Cooper et al are all throwbacks to a golden age for our club and we'll never forget them. Great to think we may retain Stuey.

Stop beating about bush pal.

What you saying is, been a great a servent, but there is where it ends.

No job for the boys, no finding a space for him in background. No special treatment.

He is either the man for the job, or doesnt get the job.

There nothing to suggest, he’s going to be a great coach or manager. Different skills to playing, could be good, could not be.

wanted to hear Battys thoughts because I'm sure he comes to conclusions on here say

think a lot are tinted with ex-players who are loved at Leeds.. no place for sentiment in football anymore, 'jobs for the boys' as you put it

'this player is good, we should sign him' - never seen him play, only reasoning is played at Madrid when he was 17, or he's seen his name on sky sports news - that sort of thing

Think he'll be a great mentor type coach, the type that puts his arms round players, the approachable type. Thinking under 18 or under 21's coach whose role is to nurture, a bit like Neil Redfearn.
I Wonder if Batty means he will be a great coach in terms of his interpersonal skills rather than anything else.

He's a very likeable person. Was a good player for us under Bielsa.

Not necessarily for Leeds and I wouldn't expect him to be a first team coach any time soon.

I want the best people possible for each role.

If thats Dallas, brilliant.

But I never get this view, that someone who was a good player, good guy, means that they are automatically will be a good coach.

Completely different to playing is coaching

He could be an ambassador for Norn Ireland to Leeds possibly if that's a role ive just made up 😅 We've always had N Irish players in the squad someewhere.

I agree with Batty, always saw Dallas as a future coach, not necessarily with the senior side but perhaps the youngsters. Felt Pablo would make a good coach onr day.

Tbh I think Dallas is too nice a bloke to make a top coach. But a hands-on assistant coach, yes.

posted on 10/4/24

He will definitely stay on at the club in some role whether its senior coaching, working with the kids or in some kind of ambassador role.
He's a very intelligent guy, hugely popular and will be an asset to the club.

Dallas has always been one of my favourite players, along with Berardi, and I feel sad when a player I love leaves the Club. I’m really pleased he will be staying with Leeds Utd in some capacity. Farke has often said what a great guy Dallas is and how he has been great behind the scenes this season, encouraging the players etc. I’m sorry we will never see him play for us again but I’m really pleased he will still be a part of the Club.

Not on about him coaching Leeds United.

Wish people just read instead of just assuming sh 1 t.

Why do I think Dallas would make a good/great coach:

For one, he's been around some talented coaches throughout his career. Most obvious of which is Bielsa.
He's proven to be a smart player. Adapts to the needs
asked of him. To great effect.

He's played at different levels within the game. He's played at the international level. So he's come up against top talent. And top managers. Did I mention
that he's smart. He's one of life's learners.

Most importantly, he was never the most gifted player.
He wasn't flooded with incredible talent. He had to
work hard and use his brain and football IQ to succeed.

For the same reason I think Messi would make a sh 1 t
coach, I think the opposite for Dallas. Messi and players
who just have this natural/supernatural ability in whatever sport they're in find it hard to teach other
players what the 'IT' factor is that makes them go.
This doesn't apply to every great player. But it does a lot.

Whereas Dallas had to do more with limited resources.
And did. So that puts him in a unique place when it
comes to coaching. I also think he loves the game.
Add to that, his playing career has come to an abrupt
end not of his choosing. I bet he has a fire in his belly
to prove himself now within the coaching ranks.

And I bet he does. Love the player. Love the man.
And I reckon I'll love the coach too. Wherever he ends
up working.

A sad day for Stuey and his family, but he gave us his best and for me, the winning goal at the Etihad will be his legacy, fighting against the odds, right to the final whistle.
Does he have a role in our future? I think the 49'ers would only keep him if they saw some value in what he can offer.
Best of luck, Stuey, and thanks for all you have done for LUFC.

kin el, know him do you? - give over Batty, don;t half talk a lot nonsense mate

wonderful if he's the next Pep, I'll be loving it, what a man.

but there's zero evidence to suggest he'd be this all star coach you suggest, totally different skill set.

have you seen the vdieos of Pep or Arteta lose their temper in the dressing rooms? I just can't see Dallas doing taking charge like that personally, be hey, I'm only guessing like you are.

totally different skill set though,
