Ideally for me Marco Silva.
Though I wouldn’t be against Graham Potter.
Not Gareth Southgate for the love of god.
I’ve been weighing up Silva lately too. But he didn’t do very well at Everton so not sure he could take on a bigger club.
I think it will be Potter.
In fairness Ancelotti didn’t do well at Everton either. It’s just a basket case club and while we’re far from perfect either hopefully the new regime at United would be better to join than our previous incarnations.
Emery.
I know he will probably have qualified for the Champs League with Villa, but surely long term, he’d fancy the United job?
Thiago Motta from Bologna?
I have honestly reached the stage where I haven't a clue.
I'm pretty open-minded. Since post SAF, some managers I have thought 'good choice', others I have been a lot less keen on, but ultimately none of them have turned out great.
Once the new manager is in, you can get an early indication if it feels right - not just results, but what's happening within the club generally and if you can actually see a plan happening and some clear thinking on moving forward - it doesn't always work out, but it's just seeing the club heading in the right direction.
God knows but as mentioned above, maybe Emery.
No idea either personally!
All good suggestions.
I don't understand the current media spin that there are no good candidates available. Ten Hag wasn't available and had a job but we negotiated with Ajax to get him. Surely the same could happen with whoever we decide to go for?
If we don't want the hassle of negotiating with another club, Tuchel is available.

+++++
But this is exactly what Man United fans fear could happen...... again.
Although only the Scouser the Bitters seriously think that Ten Hag shouldnt be replaced as soon as possible.
I don't know who but something that has always bothered me about EtH since he joined is that he's never come across as having the presence that you associate with the top managers. Pep, Klopp, Ancelotti etc, they've all got something about them whereas EtH seems so meek. I know Alonso isn't a realistic option but like the ones mentioned above he has a presence about him.

That's not obvious to me.
It’s between Potter and Southgate. But Should go all out for De Zerbi.

I really don't think it will be Southgate. I think he will extend with England until the end of the next World Cup, unless England get humiliated at the Euros.
Southgate doesn't have the presence or attitude a top manager needs. They need to be a bit of a nob head (like Pep, Klopp, Sir Alex etc).
The club would be stupid to pick any manager that hasn't managed in club football for 15 years, let alone Safegate.
I read Potter turned down the Ajax job recently (which I thought would be ideal for him) so he must think he can get something bigger.
De Zerbi is a no brainier really. Young manager, proven in EPL with a definite attacking style of play.
Should have sacked him months ago and secured Amorim for next season. Liverpool will win that race now and probably already have.
Marco Silva is a decent shout. Don't think he will get it but I wouldn't be against it myself.
De Zerbi is the obvious one but my word we couldn't be further away from a De Zerbi playing squad if we tried. We'd need about 15 new players to play his style of football which I'm all for btw but where is the money coming from for it? Also think he might rock up at Barca.
Gasperini is too old surely and I'm not sure he even speaks English that well either.
If I had to bet on it I'd say it will be Potter. RDZ and Motta the outside shouts - also wouldn't be surprised if they approach Emery.
I think Emery is the most sensible option but I just don’t see him leaving Villa if they make the Champions League.

Why not? In his 8 years there he’s done a grate job for a club that size.
Italian managers have a grate track record in the PL too
Emery managed PSG and Arsenal and underwhelmed very much, why can’t people just admit the likes of Villa, Valencia and Seville are just his level? He would flop at United too.
Yeah, don't think Emery has the balls to manage a club like us. Good manager but found his level.
