Ferguson has basically given up saying he will rest players for Tuesday as he’s secured a home second leg playoff place.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really? How is that possible at this stage when final positions aren't confirmed in the playoffs and we don't know who will be playing who?
Bywater or Wildsmith? Who's worse when it comes to kicking the ball out?
Wildsmith is very good at kicking the ball out. Not so good at keeping it in. His shot-stopping has been excellent but he isn’t great at crosses and occasionally his decision-making about when to come out of his goal is suspect. I would say it is one position where Warne needs to look at an upgrade for next season.

I agree, he almost scared me to death yesterday.
However. We should be praising the players for this season, not picking over their limitations. It’s League 1 after all. Heroes all in their own way. I also think Warne has marshalled his depleted troops very well at the business end of the season. I wasn’t a fan of Bradley returning to the team for the Orient game but it was a bit of a master stroke. 3 clean sheets since then. When you consider the players who have been absent it’s a great achievement. I just hope he can find it in his heart to put Fozzy on the bench next Saturday. He will finally have a promotion on his CV no matter what but I would love to see him get the ovation he deserves.

Because that’s the prize for finishing 3rd or 4th and they can’t be overtaken there. Opponents are not confirmed though of course.
How's the voice this morning Vidal ?
I've managed a couple of renditions of 'Old Man River' so far.
I suspect thay you may need need to gargle with something soothing, in readiness for Saturday

I think criticism of Bird for wanting to expand his personal horizons is misplaced. He’s clearly stated it has nothing to do with his view of Derby or their potential. He wants to go and live somewhere else and have a different life experience. More power to him and thanks for the fish in my view.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi. I wasn't being critical of Birdy... I agree he has to have new horizons if thats what he wants..but I just don't see Brissle as a better option than where he is ...but that's me...
I'm a bit basso profondo this morning compared to the usual rich tenor. I'm exhausted, actually. Been out for a little run but could hardly put one foot in front of the other. I had to imagine that the final slope was Cambridge away and I just needed to get past that one and I could coast home.Seemed to work.
It was a huge physical & emotional drain.
I should know better at my age !
I watched Cash just before kick-off. He was walking round in small circles shouting at himself. Who knows what he was saying. At final whistle he just sank down on one knee to take it in. What a man.

Interesting that Warney in his post match interview said that they'd practiced playing on a bone hard pitch all week. Reminds me of how they used to say the baseball ground pitch was worth a goals start.
Although this season isn't over it does seem inconceivable that we won't get a positive result on Saturday... that said I seem to recall Carlisle stuck 3 past Posh recently...so can't be taken as a foregone conclusion.
So assuming we get the result everyone is hoping for then my thoughts go towards players for next season. I think this aspect needs a topic of its own... but interesting to wonder who will be able to step up...and who won't...
I know we took a straw poll on POTY and YPOTY but for me Cash for both. He gets my nod because (a) He's been consistently good (b) He showed his loyalty to DCFC when he could well have done a Birdy and forced a move.
So yesterday... who cares... that one is now history. It was a game of 2 halves and the one bit of quality won the game.
Just a special mention for Warney and his team. I was always confident that he'd come through - even if at times it seemed we were wobbling. Can he do it a Championship level ??? For me, yes.... Cheers. Terry in Spain. UTR
