Alot of money for someone who bought Tonali when the whole of Italy knew he was betting
Didn't he get Newcastle relegated in 2009?
What are they smoking over there at St. James’?
Well they did once ask us for £50 million for Sean Longstaff.
Has anybody paid compensation for a DoF before?
Relax guys, billionaire Jim will get it done, he’s applied for lottery funding to pay the 15m
Newcastle are trying to derail our summer transfer plans because they know full well the targets Ashworth has identified for Newcastle may end up at Utd. Ashworth will probably end up on gardening leave next season, we'll end up paying nothing the season after!
We need to think of plan B and move on rather than make this into a summer soap opera. Nothing is straight forward at this club, even for the new regime which scares the hell out of me.

Brighton were paid compensation to take Ashworth to Newcastle. I hope this guy is worth all the hassle.
Hypothetically what would happen if he did just communicate with United during his garden leave (and Newcastle were aware of it)? Would it be a fine or some kind of suspension?
Good to see we will no longer be bullied on fees.

If they can prove whatever he's been accused of doing
Ashworth doesn’t identify transfer targets so it’s not that important that he’s brought in before the summer.

That's Wilcox then?
What would have happened if Dan Ashworth resigned from Newcastle because he had accepted a job at a company in a completely different industry, e.g. Shell or Microsoft or Amazon?
Would they be expected to pay compo?

Depends on the terms of his contract, but it is doubtful.
If we walked away now and went for someone else Newcastle would be in a world of trouble. They'd have a top Exec who doesn't want to be there on gardening leave.
Don't get fleeced Jim. Call their bluff and threaten to walk away. £20m for a sporting director is absolutely insane.
