City will be seeking revenge after Gibbs-White’s, Oscar winning performance got Rodri sent off in the first game.

Thanks for posting I especially like the title.
Like you, I think it has to be damage limitation today.

Very wet conditions; will the ref/VAR make allowances? I doubt it, so I am expecting at least one red card.

Yesterday'a results didn't do us too much harm. I think next week's game is the crucial one of the 4 we have left.

How's this for a starting line up:

Sels
Aina Niakhate Murillo Toff
Yates Danilo
Williams MGW Elanga
Wood.

Last season about this time we beat Arsenal to give City the title. Maybe we can even things up today.

Unfortunately I don't foresee that happening, can't score in open play and can't defend.

I can predict VAR giving City a pen just to rile Marinakis!

Tend to agree with the above, about the title and the opinions on VAR.
We have a ‘sluggers’ chance, just like Wolves did when they scored twice very late on too beat City earlier in the season.
Two objectives today, stay in the game as long as possible, just like last season, barring that damage limitation, 2 goals or less would be acceptable, although tbh goal difference is unlikely to affect the table at the end of the season.
I’d like to see Boly at centre half, if by some miracle he is fit, Omobamidele is too raw, Felipe is probably injured, again, so it may well be Niakhate.
Chances are going to be at an absolute premium today, so should we create them, the likes of wasteful Elanga and COH, along with Wood and MGW need to take them.
Hopefully Haaland won’t be risked and maybe KDB might start on the bench, but their replacements will probably still be far too good for us.
City to win this 3 or 4-1.
Next week is far more important than todays, we also need to keep eleven players on the pitch.

Niakhate, Murillo and Boly all play along with Neco Williams and Aina, guess we’ll be sitting back quite a bit. We are going to get completely overrun in midfield.
We have pace up front with Elanga and COH plus MGW and Wood.
City have Haaland on the bench, but KDB starts.
Looking ominous.

Just hoping that City have an off game today.

Similar incident to the MUTD game yesterday where Burnley got a pen.

Excellent opening 20 mins from us, nice too see we aren’t just sitting back. Don’t think the Ederson / Boly was anything to justify a pen, just a coming together.

I agree. Was surprised to see the bbc describe it as Boly flatening him.

Worrying thing is that we have created two very good chances, Williams and Wood, and not worked Ederson.

Same old story

Another set play, another goal conceded, we really just aren’t learning.
So simple, ball into the near post, and an easy header.
That’s the difference, when they get chances they take them. Didn’t help that Williams was off the pitch.

Looks like Williams has done his hamstring, that’ll be him for the season. Shame as he has been one of our best players recently.

MGW just lost his man

Wood misses an open goal, we aren’t going to many better chances than that.
Tottenham he hit the post, Everton, Pickford makes a brilliant save, Man C, misses a sitter. The only common denominator is NONE ended up in the net.

Oh Chris

Was a lovely move to open them up. Harder not to score.

I'm stunned. With the chances we have created we should,d be actually winning this game.

What a chance for Mujrillo, yard out, reaching for it, and puts it over the bar from a yard out. I get the impression its not going to be our day, again.

Half time and the stats are favouring us, unfortunately the scoreline isn’t.
We’ve had three really presentable chances, and fluffed the lot, sounds all too familiar. Especially when you add that we conceded from a set play.

But for our usual frailty, we’ve been matching them and played some good stuff. Really should have scored at least one if not 2 goals

Chris Chris Chris. He could have already had a hatrick today

Wood scored two against Luton, earlier in the season, but also missed a hatful that day.
Hopefully he will get one of them right.
