Batty it's likely to be, whatever happens in the next fortnight.
The word that jumps out at me from Jonty's post is stomach (or guts). I keep thinking back to when Gnonto wanted to leave and how he was told no. The bids will come in for a few of the guys this summer how much stomach will the club have to knock them back to hold on to any semblance of a team capable of mounting a challenge in whatever league we are in next season?

Those trash sides are tailor made for the champ, Burnley in particular. Sheff U are also handy down there. It’s probably Luton that will suffer the most - but they could still leapfrog Forest - they have 2 very winnable home games remaining.
Southampton, Norwich and West Brom will be competitive and only 1 of those sides can go up and possibly none of them. Coventry keep getting better as well.
Incredibly tough league to get out of, I agree with the OP, it feels like now or maybe waiting 5 years for both Ipswich and Leeds to have another genuine crack at it. I think both will win their final games so it comes down to whether Ipswich can grind a point at Coventry on Tuesday - that will do it
Dennis, I think Leeds were in strong enough position to rebuff Gnonto move, ie enough players had left, they had some funds, they hope to bounce straight back up.
12 months on, they still owe big money on transfers, the loanees now have a year less on contract, haven't performed well and sell on value probably even less now, some players will want out and we have less funds a year on.
Will we still say no to 25mill for Gnonto?
I would expect most if not all of the following to exit if we dont go up:
Meslier
Rodon
Gray
Summerville
Gnonto
Rutter
If we got 120m for that lot, and no guarantee....we would still owe 70m on those stupid signings we made.
It will be a brilliant job bye the club if they can somehow retain Gray, Rutter and Summerville, they are really key indicators for me not just of our chances of going up but of our understanding of what we need to go up.

or risk FFP violation?
I think Gray, Rutter and Meslier will stay but if Summerville and Gnonto move on it means we have no right back, one recognised centre back (assuming Stuijk makes a full recovery) and one wide attacking player, we are woefully short up front and lack creativity through midfield, midfield looks OK but if you shift Firpo there then we also need a left back. These are minimum numbers.
I think those people forecasting we would walk this league really don't have any idea how thin the squad is.
Did I mention that strength in depth is a myth?

Rodon & Anthony return to parent clubs. Will Roberts
return to Burnley if they get relegated? Probably.
I can see Rutter & Meslier moving to French clubs
for collectively 20 mill maybe 25 mill.
Summerville to the Prem for anywhere between
20 - 40 mill. Gnonto to a Euro side 15 - 20 maybe.
Firpo will go back to Spain. Might get 5 mill for him.
A lot of chatter around Gray. He'll be sold.
Could see 20 - 25 mill for him.
Cooper & Shacks will move on.
What will the club do about Prioe? He doesn't fit
Farke's system. No way we get back what we paid.
Probably 10 - 12 for him after this season.
Can't see Byram staying. Good player but made of glass.
Be shocked if Cresswell & Joffy don't press for moves
after being messed about by Farke all season.
Perkins and Gyabi? I'd keep Gyabi.
Positive: we have Bamford 2 more seasons.

The Premier League's FFP rules are now referred to as the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). The regulations state clubs must not make a loss greater than £105m over the past three seasons.
However, there are caveats. Clubs can only lose £15m of their own cash in those three campaigns, which means no more than £15m extra on outgoings like transfer fees, wages, paying off former managers contrasted to their income through television payments, player sales, season tickets and more.
Anything above that and up to the £105m threshold must then be guaranteed by owners buying shares - known as 'secure funding' or bankrolling the club. Premier League sides are then required to submit their financial plans for the next two season to explain how they will avoid going into the red.
The league has several financial rules in place, including requirements for clubs to pay transfer fees, salaries and tax bills on time. They must also submit accounts annually and disclose payments made to agents.

I may be wrong, but I seem to remember reading that a certain percentage of any outstanding instalments owed by a club had to be paid by a certain date, if it isn't it rolls over to the next year so affecting the next years calculations, and if we allowed this we would break the current FFP rules.

I think PSR have been put on hold for a year but when introduced, do these replace FFP completely or do they run alongside them, are they another set of rules that clubs will have to adhere to?

I think he was allegedly doing OK in a new advanced role at Plymouth until he got injured.
Probably needs to move on, not because he hasn't got the ability but because Farke is too inflexible to play him in an advanced role or otherwise.

He was playing very well at Plymouth before his injury.
Mainly because he was actually being played. Their
manager was very positive on him. We dropped 5 mill
yes, that's why I'd bring him back one more season.
At least give him the upcoming pre season.
Could see Plymouth signing him on a permanent deal.
Which may end up benefitting all parties.

Dennis - my understanding is the PSR/FFP is actually under review yet again. ( a mess)
The docking of points during a season is under serious question and now the big boys City and Chelsea are under threat, the big gun lawyers are out to fight the rules.
I spend too much money on sports tv subscriptions.
ESPN being one. With that one I can watch Championship, League One, and League Two matches.
In other words, I watch everything they put on, including Plymouth games. And then highlights of every game.
It's great. He did look good. He played more like a 10 at times. More advanced. But that's my opinion.
His manager's opinion is the one that matters.
Didn't Gyabi get Plymouth player of the month award before his injury cut short his loan?
