You’re spot on

It is crazy

Romero should be our captain, he has the passion, strength, leader of men with commanding presence.

Son is not a leader regardless of how well he’s served the club. To not show up in our biggest game of the season is not acceptable.

Maddison’s form is concerning.

Vicaro is a great stopper but weak on set pieces and needs to show his strength and size.

Lionel Messi has already said that Romero is the best CB in the world.
And Aussieglue lavished praise on him today for fighting spirit.
He might well get the captain's armband.

What this team really needs is a stronger midfield.
Maddison just is not good enough, nor Bentancur. So we played Hojbjerg today!
THAT says it all.

Feck me! Has Stuart Pearce joined 606?

Maybe sign David James and stick him up top too.

Why stop at Romero? The way VdV put that chance away.. if he could stay onside, with his pace..

Well everyone else seems to know what we are doing wrong, so why not something completely off the wall.

I am only surmising ways we could be more threatening in and around the box.
We seem reluctant to shoot these days and at least Romero would make sure defenders knew he was around. Those of you who just dismiss it out of hand don’t seem to have solutions of your own from our existing squad.
This is not a long term idea, but Romero looked completely comfortable and at home with playing up the pitch last night.
Sometimes crazy works🤔

I must admit I was surprised to see Hojberg playing, thought the midfield looked better with Bissouma & Sarr on (and Romero in Arsenal’s half).
I am a big Son fan but agree with Ted & Rastaman that Romero should be captain.
Also thought Johnson looked good when he came on and Kulusevski had a good game too.

Should have started with Richarlison yesterday, just the sort of presence needed in the box with his shi*housery nobody else worried there defence at all at least he would have been a presence

Let's just finish the season and get to the transfer window. Need to do work during this and get some new faces in, then hopefully it'll be a reset going into the next season, which is what we desperately need.

How we've spent a good chunk on 2 new CB's, got mostly new fullbacks, got rid of Sanchez and Dier, and the defence is still just as bad as last season (which was our worst defence since the PL started) is quite hard to fathom though.

I'd say we are just as bad because it looks like we don't work on any defensive duties/game plans.

I mean how long has it took us to work out to have someone standing on the oppo player that's standing on vicario.

It is a little worrying that in our pursuit of searching for very attacking, free flowing football, after all the negative managers, we may have gone with someone that is so intent on that that he neglects the other side of it, the defensive side.

Ange obviously sees possession and attack as the best form of defence. It's his plan A. The plan A isn't even very good at the moment....predictable attacks with a lot of narrow play that gets nullified. I'm sure Ange wants to improve this plan A, but surely even with the best attack in the world and players comfortable on the ball, you're still going to get found out at times if you don't work enough on your defence.

Is Romero usually that dangerous at set pieces? We usually defend them pretty well, but they guy was a nuisance for us all day in those positions.
