when we lose o'riley its not his role we need to replace.
we need to push mcgregor up and get a cdm.
need a wanyama in there in this system, mcgregor is both wasted and quite frankly poor at the job he's currently being asked to do.

Whilst today Calmac can do a job in AM I also think he forgets to lose the safe shackles of the DM role and we don't get the defence splitting passes we'd like out of him.
That and at 30 he's going the wrong way for the energy needed in that role. Not saying he doesn't have it now but it doesn't get any easier.
I'd prefer we brought in better AMs.
I think he would bring the balance that one of the cm's needs to offer.
there was a point against dundee where i thought he was doing too much pointing and not getting into space to receive the ball.
2 seconds later he got it, turned and played a nice pass to the edge of the box and i just thought "wheres that been?"
he plays with his back to goal as a cdm and never seems to do a 180 when he collects the ball, 90 degrees at best. which is fine if you are neil lennon and can tackle and break up play as well, but i don't think those are attributes we can claim he is great at.
he's wasted in there, he's better than he is showing and i put that down to him being used badly.
