I thought it was awful tbh. Just a miserable story with a bunch of dislikable people

Started well but ended a bit flat. All the focus on Martha and nothing on that particular incident in that flat.
Agreed with Kash (finally) - started promising, but dropped off massively in the second half.
I wanted to know more about Martha's backstory; whether there was any catalyst to the mental decline.
I also found Donny a very irrational and unlikeable character. In terms of his personal growth, for example, returning to the perpetrator without defiance or esteem, in order to elicit a favour for the betterment of his career - wasn't the overriding message the exact opposite?
His take on comedy was also awful; had me questioning why we're meant to be gunning for a guy that was clearly out of his depth.
Ex-gf was banging, though

Any backstory on Martha would have been guess work, surely?
Agreed about Donnya and his ex. She is beautiful

I would've thought the creators/Donny himself would've done some investigative work to unearth that backstory - perhaps speak to relatives or acquaintances, public servants (they talk!), etc.
If they legitimately couldn't find anything - that's fine - I just would've liked it to have been stated.
Even a throw away line by Donny during a self-monologue "I never did find out what had made Martha crack" or something.
It would have at least given me some viewing closure/completeness to the tale. it was just Iportrayed as a bit deus ex machina (although a very weird version of it) as it was: woman who was apparently normal and successful is now absolutely batsht for unknown reasons; has no relatives, colleagues, or acquaintances to speak of; goes to prison without any support showing up at court for her; has presumably been out for some time now (didn't she get nine months or something?) and her obsession has seemingly - and miraculously - passed?
Fair enough, though they did allude to her childhood. Yeah nine months according to the programme but the real Martha (if this is her) has said she never went to prison.
Yeah, just done a little digging myself (recognising the irony that I am half way out of the door to commence the stalking of a stalker) and came across this reddit post:

Never went to prison, but does seem unhinged. If I had FB, I'd be half-way tempted to follow her...

He really didn't do anything to hide her other than change her name which makes me question Gadd a fair bit over why he created this work in the manner he did.
It's a great story about trauma but a fair bit also felt quite self indulgent to me, and he seems to have gone to more effort to hide his rapist than he did his stalker which I find odd.

I did think that, but I think it's just harder to get to those kinds of people in power. Martha was just a mere mortal like us.
Also, it seems piers morgan invited her on his show. I'm convinced this is all one big hoax
