This board have got so lucky. Rodgers has got them out of mire big time.

If we have another summer like last year then i think he will walk.

As big a fan as brendan is he cant risk reputation working under lawell and co.

I like his mentality and his attitude, he might not take his gloves off to shake hands but I remember reading a story where he immediately demanded a better office befitting a Celtic Manager when he first arrived, let the players and staff know his position in the club, his successor who got the job in the shower asked for the old office back, standards if your the boss act it. Like him or loath him or don’t rate him whatever you can’t deny his Scottish record in management he certainly would not have argued with fans standing in shrubbery

That’s a load of baws Lex.

Fact.

I’d explain but your hubris tinted spectacles would not let you believe it.

we've somehow scraped the league this year, if we get over that finishing line.

to take 10 out of 12 in the old firm games shows that we are dropping too many points against the rest and that was my argument from the start, the stats of this previous run show that.

i worry that a "good" rangers team is all it would take.

that said, the recruitment has yet again under a PL tenure been nothing short of an abomination. not one signing started on Saturday and nor should they.

if he wants to stick with the line that he is happy with every signing before we sign them then thats on him.

Certainly all it would have taken this season.

Even this schite Rangers team could have won it had a few things gone our way. That we blew the league at Dundee and County is the real sore point.

That in a season with Mick Beale and a dreadful summer window suggests problems at Celtic.

Ultimately Celtic had the better quality players and deserved the win but with the players he has, Rodgers has had a below par season, which is mad because he should end up with a double.

the important thing to remember is that even when we are schite you are worse.

rangers are basically hearts now tbh.

And that’s exactly why our club is run the way it is. Just be that wee bit better than Rangers. I dislike it as much as the next man, but that model has wreaked havoc among the Rangers support and their club as we have quite simply dominated the domestic scene for such a ridiculous amount of time now so much that the recent generation of fans have never witnessed failure in the bigger scene.

No club in Scotland will go out and spend multi millions to either make their league win more convincing or gamble the shop on reaching later European group stages. It makes zero financial sense.

Now and again the model will have a blip like the Deila and Lennon years along with that Scottish cup semi final. When it happens we react fairly quickly and put any signs of some longer term turnaround quickly to bed.

It’s the way our club is run and will continue to do so.

Oh and for those that have short memories, the last term of Postecoglou’s managership was painful to watch as well.

Like Rodgers his first two seasons were astonishing.

the end of anges second season wasn't great but the league was wrapped up.

rodgers second season was turgid mate, i remember being at hampden to see us beat motherwell in the league cup and it being one of the worst games of football i've ever seen.

I think rodgers is a decent manager, i don't think he is a great manager, and i don't think Ange was either, but i think ange style was better suited to us. I really looked forward to attending matches under ange.

this season has been pretty much what i expected tbh, some poor football, some poor results, just glad to get there in the end.

The first seasons for both were amazing and I’m not going to let the manner of Rodgers leaving cloud that.

Postecoglou also jammed at the first sign of an EPL gig but for many that’s accepted as his move was at the seasons end. Bizarre if you ask me.

If we get good or even great managers or players we all know we have them for a relatively short period of time. We can’t even remotely consider trying to keep them as the cost is just so far out of our reach.

Situation for me is that both had amazing starts for us, bit started to go a bit stale which to be fair isn’t exactly a shock, yet still won their leagues; and both jumped at the first time of asking.

I tend not to get too fussed when it happens but I’m a believer in the thought process that you “never go back”, and that’s probably why I’ll be even less concerned were Rodgers to go or be kicked out. It’s only a matter of time anyway.

rodgers first season was superb, tbh i think the calibre of football we played under him was directly linked with Dembeles fitness.

I actually wanted him to walk at the end of his third season, i couldnt watch it anymore, just boring schite. I think for a lot of people though he was the man, the man for 10 that nobody could see past, and some will still blame him for us losing the 10.

i was the same with tierney, couldn't see him leaving before 10, made me look like a phanny.

guys already on twitter giving it "the board know they need to spend big this summer". Based on wit maniacs man.

Ange had Celtic playing the way they should be playing domestically

Saturday kinda summed up our season, we absolutely dominated Rangers from start to finish but it seemed so unconvincing in the end

we've had some many false dawns this season and you think we're going to kick on and we don't

3 of the 4 old firms we should've won by 2 or 3 easily

the 2 performances against Lazio and Atletico at home in the CL were good but the other 4 were turgid

we've had 6 or 7 very good performances domestically

but theres also been 4 or 5 games where we've been played off the park by dross in the league

And not inconceivable Rangers put 4 or 5 past Dundee and Killie beat us by 1 or 2 and it is squeaky bum time.

Indeed. Domestically successful and depressing in equal measure. Have said this before, but I’m really not even asking our board to splash much more cash than we already do, just spend it far better/smarter than in recent windows … on fewer, better quality additions, and giving promising youngsters more game time to plug any gaps. Win/win for me, if we had a less bloated, better quality, better balanced squad and an environment where young players actually could see a path to first team minutes. We’re miles from any of that currently.

my biggest concern last week was what happens AFTER the old firm, should we not take maximum points.

surely we can avoid losing the last 2 matches, even a draw at home v st mirren does the job.

but the killie game scared me, and rangers on a high v dundee at home might have been a goal fest.

Celtic were never going to pass up the chance to win the league at home to Rangers

they had us in practically the same position in the previous old firm game and shat the bed, we were never going to do the same

I have no concerns about us winning at Kilmarnock.

We’re a completely different proposition to the side that suffered the early defeats.

I’d be disappointed were we to even draw the game.

Looking forward to watching it on tv with a bought in dinner and a jaunt to the sunshine the next day.
