Well that's one way to squash the NRR talk

This is has to be one of the quickest chases ever in a T20?

They'd have done this in 3 without Will Jacks

Yes England 8 wickets win and chased that in just 3.1 overs.

We’d probably be top of the group without Will Jacks.

I think there was a one ball win in a club game but for an international this has to be right up there.

Salt, Buttler and YBJ had an S/R of 400, 300 and 400. That waaanker Jacks had 71.43 of 8 balls.

Can anyone explain why Malan was dropped at all?
He was top of or near the top of the 20/20 rankings.
Ties into why is Jacks playing? bizarre inclusion

S/R and a poor ODI world cup pushed him out of the white ball side.

I think it was a crap decision because he’s so versatile and consistent, and has been replaced by YBJ and Jacks, who have both looked shiiiiit in this side.

Jacks is a good player worth investing in but he's not a number 3 and, like with Bairstow batting 4, they seem to want to just get names in as opposed to picking the best players in their positions.

posted on 13/6/24

I had, hes still smashing it for Yorkshire. guess they need to keep Bairstow going..so one of the old uns had to go

posted on 13/6/24

No one had a good world cup for England.Malan was never a test player. But he did great in the 20/20 format.

posted on 13/6/24

Jacks is shiiiiit. He can’t bowl so is useless as that option and has had like one good innings at a decent level in t20 for RCB when he made a tonne this season. He’s a liability for England. Investing in his talent because he’ll occasionally have a good score of 18 off 5 balls doesn’t win world cups.

posted on 13/6/24

Nah he's got talent in my opinion but I agree he shouldn't be in the squad at the mo. Needs more consistency and spending more time on the T20 circuit.

Duckett should definitely be in there.

Jacks is actually a decent bowler especially in t20 but rarely gets a bowl for England. Explosive batter but he's a flat track bully which worked in the IPL but maybe not so much on these pitches.

With Moeen and Livingstone, we definitely don't need all 3 in the XI. I'd prefer another seaming all rounder personally.

He’s got talent as a slogger when he’s on his game. But that’s not enough. He’s not an international standard batter or bowler.

So will the Aussies throw the match and chance coming second in the group?

It didn’t even work in the IPL. He had one good innings where he was 100 not out and average 18.5 in the other seven games. And that’s in an IPL where every second ball was a six. He kept getting out from crap slogs.

Let’s hope rain doesn’t spoil it for us. All offence to Scotland, but the super 8s needs us there not them making up the numbers.
