Should make for some nice, pleasant debate on here anyway.
I remember being called Tory scuum because I disagree with some of Corbyn’s policies.
Don’t think they could have got the optics worse than that for the announcement, it really is like watching The Thick of It in real life at times…
The thick of it becomes more and more of a documentary with each passing year.
Will labour get an overall majority or will they need propping up from others?
It's gonna be more one-sided than the FA cup final, except the team in blue aint winning election.

I think they’ll get a majority, but I think what happens after that may depend on the direction the Tories choose to take.

Not sure about that!
FA Cup final could get seriously embarrassing.
Oh boy, can't wait for a different flavour of Tory!
Still at least in Scotland we have the SNP who focus on real issues and not tedious culture war nonsense that has destroyed their reputation.
Oh.

Aye, pretty depressing, isn’t it? A variety of parties I wouldn’t trust to run a bath.
I find it all a traumatic experience.

Quite possible that the Tories could split apart. They’ve had so many different infighting factions pwicking about for so long, the inevitable GE hiding might send them into full on self-destruct mode. All their self-interest groups within the party have seemed totally detached from the reality of the opinion polls for so long now, it’s quite extraordinary.

I don’t think that can happen when they know the effect of doing so.
They could lurch to the hard right though. Not sure what voters would make of that.
Maybe we’re turning into America.

I doubt there are many Torries left now. I expect it will be a landslide, only surprise is them calling it so early. If he truly believes things are now getting better, why not allow time to show it, then call it?
The good news is we bought our first house a while back and move in on 4th of July so will be two pieces of good news that day when they're ousted.

The timing is a bit odd.
Inflation being where it is means interest rates may not fall.
No planes have gone to Rwanda.
Maybe he knows deep down that things won’t actually get better, and this is the lesser of evils in terms of his options.
