Not sure Grealish does though. 3 goals and 3 assists in a world class team. How would he have got on with Lindelof/AWB as his left fullback all season in a poor Utd side.

It’s debatable with Grealish but I don’t agree with the stats argument that many use against him.
I don’t watch him every week but his all round game is miles better than Rashford.
He can’t, but as an England fan I’d have still taken him just because of the impact he could have from the bench. We don’t have many players in the squad that have scored goals for England either.

Stats aren't everything, no. But for attacking midfielders they are important.
Rashford almost has more goals against the big 6 than Grealish has in total against everyone. In fact Grealish only has 32 PL goals in his career which is actually quite poor given the team he's played in for last few years.
They are completely different style players though of course. Grealish is a better team player but Rashford on form is far more exciting and dynamic.

Is it? I have always found Grealish to be a bit of a nothing player. He has no balance or upper body strength hence why is is always rolling about on the ground.
Rashford, for all his poor form this year has a pretty decent record for England. He has the ability to make things happen. Grealish, well god only knows what the hell he does.

I’d probably not take Grealish either given that Eze bring all the ball carrying & ability to go past people that Grealish does plus carries a greater goal threat.
But I also understand that having players who have experience with England and are used to playing with some of the other players that they have developed relationships with on and off the pitch is handy at International tournaments where time on the training pitch is at a premium throughout the season.
There may well be a scenario Grealish doesn’t go depending how well Gordon, Maddison and Eze do in the training camp.
I expect Grealish is good for the dressing too.
Grealish doesn’t offer much of an attacking threat for England but he helps us keep the ball. That can be useful against certain teams and in certain circumstances at international tournaments. Especially as England have historically had issues keeping the ball against the very biggest teams.
Rashford is shiiiiiit at that, but he offers an attacking threat running in behind, beating players and creating or scoring a goal out of nothing, that few in the England side are capable of from the left wing.
I really think we should have taken him as that wild card option, and I thought Southgate would have done that, especially as Kane, Maguire and Saka are the only players in the squad to score more than four goals for England.

I disagree. You don’t start regularly for a treble winning side by doing nothing. Grealish is a probing player who keeps the attack going and rarely seems to lose the ball. In an attack with Kane, Bellingham & Saka/Foden he would work very well.
Hopefully it can light a fire under him.

He hasn't been starting a lot of late. Been a very underwhelming season for him even though City have been every bit as good.
Think he's a bit overrated personally. Not a terrible player but nowhere near a £100m player either.
I don't think either of them should be going to the Euros.

Yup. Shows that the midfield isn’t all that great round the fringes either, as while he’s come in and had a good season, he hasn’t been nearly as good as hype would suggest. It’s almost if they are already trying to build him up for the headline generating sales fall. Really hope I’m being cynical here.
I wonder if Southgate is as put off by his shocking work rate as much as his poor form.
Rashford and Mainoo weren’t competing for spots in the squad.
Given the midfield options I wouldn’t mind Mainoo going. He probably won’t start but has something to offer if we want to bring him on as a sub in games we’re comfortable in.
