I don't think it's a bad thing that we don't treat the young players like commodities. Makes it easier to get them in the first place I'd say.

Absolute steal. He's a talent. Not the quickest player but he's very comfortable on the ball.

Yeah he’s not good enough.

Malacia experienced the huge step up from Dutch to English football at a very young age, and had some decent games as well as some bad ones. Plenty of players, not even just young ones, have turned it around from the point at which he got injured. I think some of you are just addicted to the doom-saying at this point.

He was overplayed last season much like Mainoo has been this, no surprise the both showed erratic form playing at a club in such turmoil

He’ll be off to PSG for €60m next summer when they get bored of Nuno Mendes.

Why do we sell so poorly? Surely if he’s good enough for Benfica he’s worth at least £15-20m?

Grimaldo on a free last summer from Benfica was the LB to her

Giving Benfica a good deal on a player we don't really want isn't a bad idea either to keep them sweet just in case they have a top player we do want.

João Neves (CM) and António Silva (CB) are the two kids we’d want.

Both have release clauses up around €100m already though.

A few quid in the kitty, and a decent sell on, for a player that was never gonna make it at United, at least in the short term.
