Agree Jonty, at this point I don't care at all how it looks but id sure prefer to give them a proper beating. Hope Southampton come out like city did today in the first half.
It's one game, Jonty. The previous 46 games are over. This is the time when we find out what we are made of.
We have analysed the players and looked at the tactics. Will it be the relaxed Russell who takes the prize or can the wily Farke dispel the memories of our play-off history and seal the win? Will VAR cause havoc? Will we see a red card turn the balance of the tie?
The only factor that really matters is how the players handle the occasion and I think we will know inside twenty minutes if we are up for it. If we can assert our authority early in this game and put the Saints on their backfoot, then we have a good chance of beating them, because their backline can fold under pressure. That said, if we let their midfield gain the ascendancy in that opening spell, then it could be a very long day at the office. Yes, we should be fully aware of the attacking menace of Armstrong, Smallbone, Aribo and Brooks. But we have game changers of our own.
For me, the game will be won and lost in the midfield. Will our high press or their control of possession in the midfield come out on top? Both teams are capable of scoring at any time but defensively, I think we are stronger. Subdue their midfield and we will give ourselves a very good chance of winning. THis is how Leicester did it:

This is the best two teams in the division facing off for the ultimate prize. If we win, you can't ask for a better end to the season than that.
Morning all🌞.
Well, yep, here it is , the BIG ONE (and depending on when Earl puts up the MDT, this might be my only comment on the game today … I’m starting early 😁) … ennyhooo … yes, I completely agree with this:
“If you'd have told me at beginning of season we'd be one match from promotion, I'd have taken that …”.
I recall someone on here (sorry, can’t remember who it was) doing a predictor just before the season started … with all the chaos going on at ER at the time, I predicted we’d just miss out on the play-offs and finish in 7th place. To now be 1 game away from an immediate return to the Premier League - I also would have certainly taken that last August.
So, I’m going or a nervy 1-0 to us … Cree the hero … who else?😁
Oh and wishing a safe & enjoyable day today to all, wherever you’re watching the game🌞.
Arrived at my hotel last evening and had a couple of pints with a Leeds hating Shef Wed fan but we actually got on very well. Anyway about to have my 1500 calorie cooked breakfast which will set me up for the day and plan to get to the blue badge/wheelchair car park at Wembley for about 11.30am so will probably post again on Earl's MDT later...
