I’d say 80% of the country have centrist views with 10% each going to the far left/far right.
Corbyn appealed to the 10% which gave Boris a free run at the 80% with no political home.
This time Keir has tapped into that 80% while Rishi has pandered to the 10% on the right.
The Tories next leader will be make or break for the party. A Suella/Shapps type will kill the party.

Corbyn’s policies polled very highly when he was LOTO, it’s his personality and image which the stupid public didn’t like because they fell for what the media fed them time and time again.

I'm not sure about compulsory voting. The right not to vote is a right as well. If you force people to vote then you could get really strange outcomes.

If the choice of none of the above exists and it's recorded, it might be worth it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I can see merit in that but what if "None of the above" wins? Will it be ran again or is it purely to record it?
I doubt either the Tories or Labour will ever be finished (or even close to finished) with the FPTP system.
Despite how bad they've been they'll still be second which seems absolutely crazy, they've completely fecked public services while also riding scandal after scandal, have a feeling the true effects of their mismanagement are going to be felt by those who need help the most for years to come.
The UK desperately needs voting reform above all else.
When and why did hating on white men become vogue?
It wouldn’t be appropriate to disparage any other group in today’s society, so I don’t get why it’s considered appropriate. It’s become commonplace in business, the media, social dialogue. Very odd.

OP...I think.your pretty much spot on.
Weaknesses in leadership leads to what we see now, the rise of China and Russia. The west is preoccupied with defing what a man or woman is and trying so hard not to offend anything that moves. Meanwhile the Russians and Chinese regimes implement attacking sovereign states and build their armies and weaponry.

When and why did hating on white men become vogue?
It wouldn’t be appropriate to disparage any other group in today’s society, so I don’t get why it’s considered appropriate. It’s become commonplace in business, the media, social dialogue. Very odd.

No one hates white people French, stop getting all UKIPy

No, it’s just the white men it’s trendy to have a pop at. Nobody would have the stones to criticise a woman of any denomination in 2024

Yeah no one criticises women football pundits. Especially not black women pundits like Alex Scott. Everyone is too afraid. Never heard a single bad word about her.

Will never happen. Too many young people in this country don’t consider themselves British.

It’s a move born of desperation. The death throes of a dying PM.

Yeah that’s the reason it will never happen.
