Do you think they would “replace” Adelukan and Biggins before they have formally rejected Rovers’ offers?

Taylor has been a very expensive, largely unused, asset and whoever takes the equivalent peg in the Changing Room will be expected to use it rather more frequently. Remember Steve Brooker?

Sbarra from Solihull Moors also has a good CV it seems, and we must hope that both live up to their YouTube image and performance data.

McCann and his new physio seem to have improved recovery and fitness now, so let’s hope it continues.

Great to see confirmation that Molyneaux has signed and for 3 years too. He would have been a big loss.

I wasn't surprised about Adelukan wanting to play in a higher division, but surprised a little with Biggins. For the latter it must be money, and he could well stay in League Two!
I wonder how Jones and Lawlor are feeling about rumours about a young goalkeeper from Palace? Perhaps one might ask to be transfer-listed!

I must be physic. Biggins and Adelukan not signing now.

Harry Clifton from Grimsby sounds like McCann’s kind of player. For Grimsby fans it will be like Molyneux not staying. In this League you need players like him, hard-working and an ever-present for the Mariners.

Good to see that the club are getting on with pre-season business, thanks I’m sure to Terry B’s financial backing.

Paying transfer fees in L2 at least seems to be a thing of the past.

Clifton looks like a good signing. A relatively young and talented midfielder languishing at Grimsby looking for a step up. Just need a good Goalkeeper now and possibly some younger central defender. Where else?

Donaldo are we psychic?

Two signings to go apparently. Hopefully one will be a goalkeeper!

I assume the young winger from Bristol City is one of the two. Will we ever get a goalkeeper? If we are serious about winning the league, we need one! If we do not, which of the two mediocre should be #1?

There is also Tom Nixon from Hull on a 3 year deal. I think there are still likely to be 2 more and if one is not a goalkeeper I'd be very surprised. My bet is that we'll get a loanee from a PL or Championship club and if it's a PL club, they seem to take a long time to sort out their squads.

But I agree we cannot afford to have 2 back-ups. I prefer Lawlor, but McCann got it all wrong last summer, so who knows? The problem with Jones is when he's been on loan previously I don't think he has played any matches. He is such a good natured fellow that people would say "Oh he won't mind not being in the team!"

There was a rumour we were looking at a young keeper at Crystal Palace, but I've seen nothing since.

Yes Joe Whitworth. Interestingly he's tipped to go to Shrewsbury who've let Marko Marosi go.

Looks a good goalkeeper signing. Teddy Sharman- Lowe. So good they named him twice. Should have been named High not Lowe at 6ft 4".

Let’s hope he’s as good at high balls as he is for low ones.

Last close season the recruitment encouraged us, but the recruits did not live up to expectations. Perhaps the scrutiny has been more objective this time and the latest batch will be up to the standard of the January signings this year.

We seem to be amongst the bookies’ favourites this time and we won’t have to exhaust ourselves in slagging them off again. (In the event, I suppose the bookies were eventually right, but only very narrowly!)

GM's given himself more pre season time to build a team ready for the off. Hinting one final addition. Possibly another midfielder? The key to success will be to keep the squad as fit as possible and injury free for as long as possible.

Bookies have us 12/1 fourth favourite to win the league. Quite a lot of bets going on at this price.

RIP, Brian Makepeace, one of the "greats" during my early days as a supporter.
I always thought it was a lovely name for a hard-as-nails fullback!

I remember him as a fresh-faced young man making his home debut, just in front of me behind the wall at the Rossington end. He was 10 years older than me.

Of course I remember Billy as a very good player with us the first time. But it seems he did not make it in the MLS in the USA. I always considerate MLS as the old peoples' home for European greats beyond their sell-by date. OK, we have been lucky here to see some great players still playing well - Brasil great Pele, Beckham, Henri, and now Messi. I think this has restrained the development of genuine USA players, much has the foreign imports have done in the UK. It is all about money from TV rights, etc.
I really want Billy to do well with us - I so remember him scoring after his son had died.
We now have too many strikers - what does Miller think about it all?

You can't really see him starting any games but as an impact sub maybe. I think it's more his influence on the squad that GM is thinking about. But if he's half as good as Modric at his age I'll be happy.

He started well - https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/la-galaxy-s-billy-sharp-named-player-of-the-matchday, but I haven't studied his US career closely.

My first reaction was that he might be too far past his best to be useful, but until we can see him in the L2 context we shall not know. He has always scored goals though and provided he can get in position (and he looks in good shape) that is a talent which he seems unlikely to have lost.

I guess that might be it for Rovers. Though possibly one more loan signing and a few players out on loan. Looks a reasonable squad. Let's Hope GM makes more of it than Southgate has with his so far.
