If it is all about control - conspiracists would say for fixing - then the clubs will never vote against the overlords and disrupt the gravy train.

Could they not just speed up the process !....,

or get operators on VAR who actually know what they are supposed to do !

It’ll be good to hear more details, a lot of clubs surveyed their ST holders and one of the options was “Would you keep VAR if it was enhanced and improved?”

Within football automate anything that involves lines, real or imaginary. Offside decsion requires an imaginary line drawn on the pitch to determine? Automate it with tech
Throw in? Automate with tech
Goal line? Automated with tech
A line in the toilets? Ok VAR that one

I'm personally in favour of VAR, but decision making needs to be improved and sped up definitely.

One thing i dislike is how when a possible offside occurs they let the game play on for a further 15 - 30 seconds to see what happens. It just leaves fans wondering whether its worth celebrating or not if the additional play results in a goal

Automated offside does away with line drawing, so should be quick.

The biggest issue is their obsession with not re-refereeing the game. Just get the decision correct and if that means fecking your m8 on the pitch so be it.
