he has 7 senior seasons and has made 30 appearances and played over 2000 league minutes in 6 of them

No chance.

If there was a clause and levy was going to activate it, he would do it now before the euros

We will not sign eze. It’s just not in the ambition of levy.

Whoever does will be in a bidding war with United and olise as palace won’t let them both go

We are not a serious enough football club to buy eze.

He would be a game changer here.

With our track record for injuries the first little knock he gets he'll never be seen again.

posted on 7/6/24

Apparently they want the £60m up front as well.

It's a tough one because on his day he unplayable and offers alot BUT his injury history isn't great and doesn't fit straight into the team without sacrificing one of Son or Maddison.

Obviously there will be rotation but £68m in total is a huge risk and we have other areas with more pressing concerns. Given the budget as well I can't see him coming to us.

How is that measured.

How are we ranked 42nd in success, and over what time period.

and does that time period reflect how we are ranked in terms of riches?

It reminds me of the anchorman S3x Panther scene...60% of the time, it works all the time it's a classic.

Love that movie

It’s measured on trophies. We don’t win any. But we make lots and lots of money. Probably by charging the highest tickets prices around and charging £180 odd quid for a kit every year 👍

So ranked joint 42nd with all the other hundreds of European clubs that also didn't win a trophy.

So joint 42nd with Arsenal and Bayern Munich and Barca etc

I'm also intrigued to know how we are ranked. Are we behind clubs in Cyprus who keep winning things domestically, for example?

Not that I think we wouldn't be that low down on a list ranking trophy winners. We stick out like a sore thumb on the top 10/20 rich list as a club that just doesn't win things. It is rather embarrassing. I wonder if Levy feels the same about it.

We could of had him before he went to Palace for around £20m, but chose not to in Vintage Levy fashion

----------------------------------------------------------------------
23/24 - Started 24/38 games
21/22 - Started 6/38 games
20/21 - Started 29/38 games

Only 1 of his 4 seasons in the PL haven’t been interrupted by injury.

In total he has played 8610 minutes in all competitions since joining Palace which is only 57% of the minutes they have played.

I do no want Eze flavour of the month again by the internet. Plenty of doubts over his injury record, his fitness and he is more of a central player i would not pick him over Maddison or Son.

Wharton on the other hand yes please.

posted on 7/6/24

Does started matter? A 19/20 year old Eze getting off the bench minutes when he just joined the PL (season 20/21) is a weird stick to beat him with.

posted on 7/6/24

I’m not beating him with any stick. He’s missed a lot of games due to fitness/injury issues, that’s a fact.

I still think he’s a quality player and he would be a great signing for any club in the PL if he can keep himself fit.

posted on 7/6/24

I dunno, I thought that too but he basically just had one bad injury and has been unfairly tarred with that brush since

he's basically had one big injury and then barring that his record is totally fine

I think people have just sort of lumped him and olise together and think they're injured as often as each other

posted on 7/6/24

He had 4 occassions last season when he was unavailable to play.

He missed October, three weeks at the end of Nov and half of Dec, then he missed the whole of Feb and one game towards the end.

He will pick up more injuries because other players don't want to be skinned by him and will leave a foot in. He got fouled against Bosnia a few times every time he ran at them.

posted on 7/6/24

He ended the 20/21 season with an Achilies problem missing the last few games, which ran into the next season, missing a dozen more. After that he was pretty much available all season (didnt always start) and then played the whole of the 22/23 season.

This season he had 2 or 3 separate short term injuries, missing about 10 games.

Its not ideal but it also is not a history of long term problems. Only biggie was his Achilles in 2021.

I also think that if he joined, he would not play every game and not every 90 mins when he does play. If coming from the left then he's rotating with Son and Werner, if in the middle then with maddison.

We may have more games overall due to Europe but a larger squad where he isnt the only star allows for better management of him and other players.

I'd still prefer Olise but Eze would be a great addition IMO as across the attacking positions he'd add real quality and we can sub and rotate without a big drop off in quality. Also, need a guy to dribble through those low blocks, commit players, drag a 10 man defence out of position, make space. We lack this in the team.

The problem is the money we would have to pay he would have to start.

I do not think he passes our analysis recruitment team personally.

He would pass any recruitment analysis. The boy is class but his injury record and fee do not match up.

What a weird thing to say.
