Just found a few of his historical tweets, and tbf they’re pretty bad. But the point still stands that it shouldn’t be used now to get him sacked. Funny enough it’s the kind of thing that some people post on here week in week out and think it’s perfectly acceptable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's the employer raking the devision to sack him, if it were to happen.

If its out there, then you suffer the consequences.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The only people who think that are those that are totally engulfed in this ridiculous SM/cancel culture that taking over now.

Those of us that are still capable of independent thought are able to distinguish and usually draw the line under what people did during their younger years, when they are easily carried along by peer influence and stuff they read online, whilst still being relatively immature.

As long as they can look back and acknowledge how stupid and wrong those things are, then there’s no need to punish them for it nearly twenty years later. He didn’t kill or physically abuse anyone.

There is an insidious undercurrent of racism in the press that you see with the likes of Saka, Rashford and Bellingham amongst others being judged differently to white players. That trickles down to the knuckle dragger fans who jump straight on the black players whenever they’re anything less than perfect. Racism has always been there but I’ve never seen it this bad since Elon Musk bought twitter and now it’s in plain sight. Genuinely shocked with what people feel comfortable saying now
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What’s your explanation when white players get abuse and get low match ratings?

I'm all for people being black but it's just the way it is shoved down our throats in the media. We have the likes of Lingard and Pogba dancing after scoring goals and the like. I am fine with them being black and happy for them to do that in the privacy of their own home but I don't want it forced down my throat.

I for one think as fans in this country we are very welcoming towards black players joining the England first team and the under 21s and below teams. We are welcoming at all age groups. I just feel now they walk about like they own the place. Not much gratitude shown towards us for welcoming them in.

If saying ‘a black man…’ is racist then I’m the grand wizard of the KKK.

I was talking to a gay guy yesterday....so I presume that makes me homophonic

No. It makes you gay

Is that because you believe only gay people should be allowed to speak to other gay people? Do you think that gay people should be allowed to sit on the same buses as normal people?

Also fans in this country are already so suppressed by our media. We are constantly being told that we aren't allowed to be racist. Aren't allowed to be sexist. When a group are so suppressed like that then you've got to expect some level of outburst eventually. Mainoo hardly helped himself by having a bad game. At the end of the day fans aren't racistly abusing him because he is black. They are racistly abusing him because he had a bad game. This is a football thing. Not a colour thing.

Not sure why there is outrage about this.

I didn’t see it but if he had a bad game the media must be honest about.

The guy is a fantastic talent just off the back of a MOTM performance in a cup final against the best team in the world.

I doubt he’ll be overly phased by a bit of criticism over a meaningless friendly.

People love to throw the race card.

LOL

Usual rubbish out of you. Nothing interesting or insightful to say ever.

Didn't watch the match, but I saw the pic of Steinberg's player ratings and it was a bit strange. Blamed Mainoo for the goal (watching it back, I don't see that at all) and then on Declan Rice's rating he basically blamed his poor performance on being partnered with Mainoo which was pretty bizarre.

He was always going to get stick for that, a lot of which has gone OTT as you'd expect with some of our fans on social media unfortunately. I don't think its some sort of subconscious racism though - seemed like more of a confirmation bias from him. From his ratings alone it seemed he'd obviously gone into the game doubting whether Mainoo was ready, and then viewed the entire game through that lens (literally all of us do this at some point tbf).

As for Mainoo, he'll be fine.

Yep. But now people are trying to end a man’s career over it. It’s insane!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Does it matter how he was exposed ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was “exposed” because of his match rating. No one was looking to “expose” him prior to this. So it’s revenge in its simplest form. And the tweets that people are using against him are up to 17 years old at a time when he was most likely a teenager. It’s a joke.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, it is excessive.to go deep.diving for dirt, but once that dirt is exposed, nobody cares. If you were racist once, you should lose your career.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And here’s exhibit A. Get a grip of yourself.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s not saying you should lose your career, he’s saying that’s the view of people on social media.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Looks more like his view to me….
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s RDD, he wouldn’t think someone should lose their job for being a member of the KKK.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah, didn’t know. People should stick to one username rather than trying to hide behind different ones. He’s obviously pretty dim then by how he’s written what he has.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Dim, for saying a racist should suffer consequences?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’ve not seen the Tweets, but if we’re at the point where people are accountable for something written in their younger years, when in all likelihood they’re a completely different person now, then it’s pathetic. He’s not a politician, he’s a sports journalist.

It’s the idiots dredging it all up and using it because they didn’t like a balanced view on a football player that are the problem.

Agreed 👍
