If more clubs get bought out by oil money, and City win their cases, English football is probably done for
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It was only this week Liverpools chairman said he was determined to get PL games in the States…

----------------------------------------------------------------------
And then John Henry put the kibosh on it
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The point is there’s still some that are advocating for it.

The right answer to the OP is we don’t want to be in a state where the PL is majority owned by American or Middle Eastern investors.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cool, let them. Watch the reaction of match going fans though. I expect similar to the ESL reaction.

Doesn't make more Saudi owners right though.

This explains why Everton backed Man City’s whinging last week then.

Never said it did. Just realised I’d replied to the wrong comment initially though, was supposed to be back to the comment around there being a PL game in Riyadh in a years time.

American owners bad.

Saudi owners better.

UAE owners cheats and sportswashers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not often I agree with Boris but fair play for admitting it.

Yeah I mixed the comments up to. I was replying to the possibility of a game in Riyadh. Fans won't stand for it IMO.

I agree, just shows there’s plenty of people in positions of power that don’t have the fans interests really at hearts.

Who said they would want games in Riyadh?

The threat of games in the US is real.

They'll do what they want. But it will be marketed to you as a good thing so you'll be ok with it

Might do, I'll not renew my season ticket though if they even consider playing games in Scotland.

If it stops the Yank clubs following their dream of an ESL then it is a good thing.

If that’s aimed at us I think you’ll find we are a Cayman Islands club. Jokes on you

If you were told back in 2010 or so that Man City would win 6 out of 7 titles and 4 in a row through being allowed to cheat, you'd be outraged. But because it has been drip fed to you and been allowed to happen over time whilst being promoted by the PL, you are ok with it.

The mistake they made with the super league was springing it on you over night.

You are like toads in a pot in a stove. If the heat is gradually turned up from cold then the toad does not jump out and boils to death. If a toad is thrown into boiling water it just jumps straight out.

You have been boiled slowly over time, so you don't even notice it happening. You are boiled toads.

That article is complete word salad vacuous nonsense which is an opinion piece from a moron not based in any sentiment of fact, which is unsurprising given it’s the Daily Mail.

Aside from aligning to your own opinion of what you want to be true, what’s the point of posting it?

We've had this with US owners, Chinese/Asian owners and ME owners. This is capitalism and if you don't like it, support your local Sunday league team.

Wonder if their prized pet threatening to quit played a part?

Do because City's owners fled the scene of the crime before the others they're not guilty on your head

You mean City and Chelsea joined without really knowing what they were agreeing to until it was announced? So how DID they find out, through the media?
