What coaching badges did his dad have? Having done a course doesn't make you a football manager. I suspect Schteve had every badge going but didn't make him a success at Forest. I expect if Nigel wanted to take further coaching courses he could, it's hardly rocket science but why should he as it will make no difference to how he performs as a manager. We seem obsessed with useless bits of paper nowadays. I know I have a file full of them but what are they really for. Keeping college lecturers in a job I suppose.
Anyway the chance of anyone going to Forest unless they are prepared to work for the minimum wage are slim.
Spartacus, coundnt agree more however rules are rules and it appears that to be a manager in the Championship you must have at least an A badge.
Does this put Nigel in a situation where he can either go down a league or be at GSE's beck and call untill they tire with him.

Why do three capital letters in a row make you laugh? You appear to have a very peculiar sense of humour. However I will make your day.

You must be rolling on the floor laughing by now.
Nigel if he so desired could easily obtain the further coaching badges, after all he has several years experience of coaching at different levels. He also has referee qualifications. Wonder if they covered what to do if a manager knees an obnoxious little scotsman up the backside.
TEG.
How ashamed of your club must you be that "NLN" beat your shower with ten men in your own back yard?
Not ashamed college boy, these things happen
So TEG are you telling me you don't find 3 capital letters amusing. Now you appear to have something in your eye.
Do you think that the recent demise of Forest is part of a zionist conspiracy? Have the Rothchilds got to Doughty, they are both international financiers after all.
Back to the OP, I think undertaking a UEFA licence course is both expensive & time-intensive, I remember Billy Davies took time out to travel abroad to observe different coaching techniques. Recently retired players mention how expensive the coaching badges can be.
I also think Clough has had enough to do in his day job as Derby manager. Suppose if he took courses now, I'm sure some of our fans would moan that he wasn't devoting enough time to his present job. Perhaps a director of football could have allowed NC time to complete a licence etc.
I also think that although football is a uniquely different working environment, it is still a working environment and some people wish to devote time to family. There are always ambitous people who undertake courses/off the job training but most people learn on the job.
I don't see it as a negative, Clough not having the A licence, he probably could achieve it soon enough, maybe he is settled enough at Derby or has enough to contend with already and it isn't a priority.
I've got plenty of qualifications, most of them hoops you have to jump through, but few of them ever really benefited me. It was more learning on the job/from colleagues that helped. Too much theory doesn't help with the realities of the day-to-day.
Brilliant reporting by The Mirror. Make up one story last week with no foundation, then make up another one this week that prevents something that was never going to happen anyway, happening. Newspaper? My@rse!
Here's someone else who hasn't got his UEFA coaching qualification - Sir Alex Ferguson.
Basically managers with 10+ years experience when the rule came in were exempt, and awarded a diploma. Paul Ince doesn't / didn't have one either, IIRC, when he went to Blackburn - they gave him 2 years exemption to obtain the necessary qualification.
He didn't need anything like that length of time to get sacked.
Happy Harry Redknapp hasn't got his either - I assume this means he can never manage England even though he is comfortably the best ENGLISH manager around?

Great example last Thursday Baz of how the market makers use the news to manipulate the market and engage in loads of buying when everybody is selling mate.
