Although there have been rumours of Zinchenko leaving, I think he is more capable of playing in CDM than Timber.

Timber, Calafiori, Tomiyasu and White should be our full back options.

Tierney - He can feck off. Injury prone and not good enough

Kiwior/Zinchenko -Happy for one of them to leave. Both are not good enough to be regular starters. So keep one as back up.

Timber looks super versatile, I suspect his main position will be left back but he'll be utilised all over the shop, a bit like Zinny but good at football. He can also cover RB & CB.

In a Football Manager world, I'd sell Zinny, Tierney and probably Kiwior and replace with Timber LANS and Calafiori (never seen him play but seems likely at the moment)

Can't see White being benched, Arteta loves him. If anything, he'll go back to CB but honestly I think the RB spot is his for now. Such a nice balance and understanding with Saka as well.

White cost £50m. I assume he would complain next season if he wasn't getting enough playing time. Gabriel cost considerably less and there would be a bigger profit on the balance sheet so more likely to be sold rather than depreciating as a backup.

And tbh I am not sure Arteta would risk forming a new CB partnership with the risk of free points to City during the settling in period.

(and that's despite recognising Gabriel is probably weaker CB than Saliba & White)

He did last season...
He did also drop Gabriel last season.
And the man in question plays in Gabriel's position.
And White and Timber started in the back 4 together last season.
And White being signed 4 years ago has fack all to do with anything no matter the cost.

Arteta dropped Gabriel while he was linked to a move away.

Risked a new CB partnership.

Arteta did but Gabriel had a much better season and the partnership was very solid. Which is why I think it would be big news if Gabriel was available like he was last summer.

Plus the CB's can move into midfield and Raya can drop in to play CB.

The wettest of wet dreams for Arteta.

I will like to see Timber in the DM role as a starter allowing Rice in the 8 position.

Zinchenko has actually played that from left back for Arsenal for 2 years. Which is why he has been so important despite being truly awful at left back. At least there is an argument to start him if we cannot get a top class DM like Zubimendi or Bruno G.

Can't imagine we'll see anyone coming in from the Italian league and displacing anyone straight away, although I guess the LB spot is still up for grabs.
