It feels like the team is being systematically reduced to Championship level from where it was (almost Prem I guess).
Too much emphasis on meeting PSR and none whatsoever on whether we are going to be able to strengthen the team this year or not. The silence worries me.
No indication as to Red Bull's investment being of any practical use to the club - it's easy to suppose that their investment was just a way of propping-up the finances and less to do with the squad.
All in all, I don't feel any feel-good factor in the club any more. All the Bielsa-era work to change the club ethos and aspirations feels dead in the water to me.
Still need;
Left back
Right back
Centre back
Two centre mids
Replacement for who (if) we lose in attack (Cry, Willy, Rutter)
CF to start each week
Would need a keeper if Meslier goes, Gruev and Kamara linked away. Too much noise in regards to outgoings imo, we just need to keep as much as last season's bunch and just add to it. Aaronson and Wober possible additions whether we agree or disagree.
There have been next to no deals, with any teams in our league and beyond, we don't know what's likely at this point to happen with the likes of Summerville and Gnonto and our transfer strategy will be largely based on what happens with them.
Much has been made of our interest in Callum O'Hare but until there's any movement at Elland Road there will be no movement on that front.
I think we need to be patient, transfers will happen once the Euros finish and teams will have more of an idea of where they stand.
We probably will not spend loads.
In the meantime, watching the lads back together, they look a happy and contented group.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
If it was being systematically reduced to Championship level, wouldn't we be keeping the likes of Greenwood and Gyabi, not loaning them out, and offering Cooper and Shackleton the kinds of contracts that would encourage them to stay not move on to other Championship teams.
We are obviously looking to replace them with squad players of a higher level.
If your bench mark is Jamie Shackleton and he is deemed not good enough for us but one of our main competitors rate him highly to form part of their squad. It does give quite a positive message about ambition surely.
I’m getting slightly worried now about all the outgoings with no mention of any players coming in. Klaesson is now leaving and I thought he did OK when he played. The goalkeeping situation is looking a bit precarious.
Oliver Skipp, who apparently Farke wants, doesn’t want to play in the Championship and any half decent player I’ve seen linked to us has gone to the Premier League instead.
If they sell Rutter, Kamara and Summerville as well, plus there are rumours of interest in Gruev and Gnonto also, we don’t even have 11 players left capable of getting us promoted, never mind any back-ups.
I hope the Club have some decent players lined up ready to sign because it is starting to look as chaotic as the start of last season!
We've only lost our right back from a squad that scored 90 points last season.
I'm jot too worried...
There's me thinking everybody knows the 49ers don't let on as to who they're talking to, the best way to do things I thought, that way other clubs won't come after the players you're looking at!..
And the way things were at the start for Farke, everybody was saying WTF, but hey, the 49ers did ok with the players they brought in, or were people only saying that?..
Wait untill we see who comes and goes, but it is better knowing its not Orta pulling AR's strings in the hope of getting one over on the fans!..
Good to se you back on form, Jonty. Nothing like a bit of pre-season despair to get us in the mood for the real thing.
Nothing like a panic when there’s no need.
Things will happen but most of the “links” have been click-bait rubbish.
If it’s true we turned down £30m for Rutter then it shows we have some ambition to keep our best players and now Archie has sorted the finances I assume we can drive a hard bargain if necessary.
Enjoy the Euros and don’t panic Spike - were not dooomed- yet😏
Meslier
Byram, Struijk, Cresswell, Ayling,
Ampadu, Gray,
James, Poveda, Shackleton,
Gelhardt.
The line up we started the first away match of the season with last season.
Though we are some weeks away from kick-off, quite confident we will be significantly stronger this time around.
No one is panicking, there's no despair.
Of course we've got to sell Summerville, he will form a significant proportion of our transfer budget for the season. He is down to only two years of his contract left and whilst he has said he is happy to stay at Leeds he certainly will not be signing a new contract and we shouldn't be offering him one with a release clause in it.
If he were to stay even to January the less his value would become.
If we keep him until the end of the season, he would end up leaving at a much reduced rate, even if he were to score 20 goals like this season is he worth that much to us.
We need him out and his replacements in so Farke can start the work required and the team he goes to can begin getting him ready for next season.

So Kebab the argument above regarding Summerville and the need to sell should also be levelled against others on 2 year contracts who other teams are chasing.
Looking at the list, Meslier for example falls into that category, he needs to leave either an extension now or be encouraged to leave on the basis that if he does neither, this time next year he will be worth next to nothing.
Llorente needs to leave now on the same basis to maximise income from him.
I cannot see Dan James wanting to leave the club, we should offer him an extension with or without a release clause in my mind, knowing he his settled at the club and likewise Bamford.
Firpo should also be offered a contract extension and in his case we must put a release clause in it, in my view, to entice him to sign.
The rest we can deal with through the season.
Proof reading always my downfall, Meslier for example falls into that category, he needs to sign an extension or be encouraged to leave, if he does neither, this time next year he will be worth next to nothing.

Our squad as at the first match of the season will be 3-5 players different by end of the transfer window on 30/8, just like last year. Why might you be expecting it to be any different? We are not shopping in the lower leagues basket. We're looking at the scraps of the EPL, so have to wait till they're fed first. Just the way it is and there's buuger all we can do about it.

You don't think that we will tap into various Red Bull academies, RB Salzberg, RB Leipzig, New York Red Bulls, RB Bragantino as has been suggested by many as a recruitment strategy then.
Its funny, but the same talk was had at the start of last season, and people were bringing the club down for not doing enough!..
Like I said up there somewhere, the club did a good job with the players they brought in, and that was while fighting the dumbass deals that crapped the best of what they could have done up!..
They seem to be getting a few of those deals out the door now, and we should back them a bit more to let them know they have our support!..
As difficult as things were for them, they're doing a hell of a lot better than those that they took over from!..

Last year, takeover was the excuse for delays and those delays cost us.
It's funny how the excuses of loaning out players being good business, ignored the fact that players worth less as their contracts run down, now being used as excuse to want to sell our best players.
We just sold Gray for 40 mill, how much budget do we need for new players exactly.
Look at Bielsa, just improved players.
Not saying Farke should be Bielsa, but if we have nothing to work with from within, then we've really managed things poorly.
Unfortunately we probably do have little to work with from within because of this stupid transfer policy of Ortas' the one where we brought in loads of youth players which cost us time and money and everyone said no problem, they're ones for the future.....
The problem with those was, we needed a solution for the present and these were poor players we brought in anyway.....they had no future with us.
49ers apparently some of richest owners in world, RB invested but not sure what that means in terms of money, I reckon we'll have a net zero spend at the end of it.
One can only hope it will be enough for Farke, for despite every season saying this is weakest Championship in years, we rarely get out of it.
