Yeah it's great to see a footballer attacking fans and possibility causing a riot when there's women and children trying to watch the game there too. Idiot.

posted on 11/7/24

He, and the other players, got involved because their families had already been attacked, so acting as though it was a calm situation which he escalated is laughable.

There is NO excuse for a footballer to attack a fan. NONE whatsoever!

Cantona was banned for two years for attacking a fan so Nunez should be banned for at least the same period if not more.

Dislike LFC as much as the next decent human being but if anything give him a pay rise! Attack a mans family and expect violence imo. Well done to him for protecting his family.

Darwin Spoonez has been taught well by his mentor Suarez

Footballers are human. If the situation regarding players families is true, then he's justified as a human. Being a footballer is a distant second in that scenario.

Were his family still there? First reaction would be to get them and remove them from the situation asap. If he wants to go and fckin leather the blokes after then that’s can be his next move.

Didn't you get £60m for a proven racist and somebody who committed GBH on the pitch twice? 😂

This is no justification for attacking fans. Imagine if something awful happened like a child getting hurt (which is a genuine possibility) or even a woman like the female copper he's hit.

This whole excuse about 'protecting his family' is nonsense too because in the footage there are armed police officers amongst the fighting so clearly his family were safe.

There are armed police officers stood in the crowd though so there's no way his family weren't safe. He's just a thug.

Watch the footage. His family weren't attacked. There's literally armed police right there in that section of the crowd. He's just lost his head because Uruguay got beat and the Colombia fans were winding him up.

Not sensible but also don't think he should get the book thrown at him. What was happening there was more than verbal abuse (apparently directed at the families of players) and the "security" had zero control of the situation.

RDD such a pussi that he wouldn't even protect his own family.

Giggs still a club legend?

Put the tin opener down and step away from the can of worms.

But really United fans should get their own house in order before getting on their high horses about other clubs players.

Reports from people who were there say Ugarte's mother was knocked to the floor and Valverde's son was hit by a projectile. There's a video of player's families passing their children onto the pitch to get away, and Giminez said after the game the police didn't arrive until 30 minutes after the events started.

So saying families were safe is just not true.

My opinion on the matter is based on which PL club I support. How about everyone else?

He should get a medal for doing the useless cops job. This is what Columbian thugs do when they win, imagine what they do when they lose. Oh yeah they kill their own player.

Some of the Liverpool fans defending Nunez are just disgusting. Justifying your player attacking football fans is absolutely disgraceful. He needs sacking. He escalated this situation and it's lucky nobody got seriously hurt or even worse.

There is no evidence of Colombia supporters attacking anybody. Just the narrative put out by media and LFC fans to defend Nunez.

1 year ban it has to be. Eric got called every name under the sun including insults to his family members.

Nunez being banned will do Liverpool a favour anyway. 😂
