I can't imagine he is coming ro be a bit part player considering he is a good solid championship player who would have had options to go to other clubs.
I imagine this might mean Amp is seen as a better option in defense.
This one's come out of the blue.
Like this. Good, solid veteran.
I think it makes sense. Potential for more golas form midfield which we have been lacking. Also takes corners which might be another area he can improve us in when he plays.
George Burley, Curtis Woodhouse and Tony Morley also rumoured,
I’ll get me coat
Fabian Delph and Casper Ankergren next.
Is he seen as a squad or first team player?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Is there a difference?
Do we now expect Gruev or Kamara to exit?

I think this signing would more than likely indicate that one if not both are about to exit the building....hopefully Skipp will join us on loan too but it looks like Calum O'hare from Coventry won't happen because of his dodgy injury record.
Will he get shirt no 26
I’m on a roll now
Cant guarantee anyone starting.
He’s part of the squad, nothing more, nothing less.
Like it should be
Best thing about this ???
No leaks whatsoever before the deal was signed sealed and delivered.
This is how the 49ers do business.
It's the way it should be done, especially so no one comes in and gazumps us.
Just because we aren't hearing anything doesn’t mean nothing is happening.

Agree.
Pretty refreshing. Feel more relaxed about what
the club and Farke are up to. No way they're not
actively discussing targets.
The messes of Christmas past are all getting
sorted quickly. Still no one coming in for Bamford.
Despite him being the only #9 on the planet.

Agree! Oliver Skipp would be an awesome addition.
"Best thing about this ???"
We didn't know anything about it!
Speaks volumes about the calibre of the deal then.
“When you think of Leeds, you think of the fans and I’ve had a few experiences of playing at Elland Road before and it’s the first time I’ve felt a stadium vibrate before when a goal went in, so it will be nice to be on the right side of the fans this time, instead of the wrong side."
Rothwell on LUTV
A different kind of player to what we have in midfield.
Liked him when he was at Blackburn Rovers and earned a move to the Premier League. Definitely a top end championship player. Should do well for us.
Steady signing. Saints didn't want him, nor did Bournemouth, that's our level I suppose.
These type of signings never seem to work at Leeds.
Barely started for two seasons, 29, had 4 clubs in last 3 years
Four goals from midfield last season is probably as many as all our combined midfield scored.
Good stats passing wise as well.
I think Gruev might be moved on now.
Joe Rothwell at Southampton:
🔺16 Championship appearances (4 starts).
🔺4 goals.
🔺91.9% pass accuracy.
🔺1.63 chances created per 90.
🔺60% long ball accuracy.
🔺57.1% dribble success.
🔺66.7% tackles won.
The lad has started less than 150 league games at 29.
Very very underwhelmed if this signing is replacing either Kamara or Gruev

Got just 10 goals in the previous 5 and half years.
20 goals in career at 29.

Maybe coming into his prime at 29? 4 goals in 4 starts last season at Southampton is excellent.
