I agree with kinsang, this place should be always about banter. There's only a handful of us, so it has been quite good and very little drama compared to the old 606 where we would have Federer-Nadal, Ronnie-Hendry and Manny-Floyd wars all the time.

and Ronnie-Hendry is pointless when Alex was the greatest

I'm surprised you and Viva haven't said anything about Judds performances this week. I'm unsure why you're so reluctant to say anything positive about him at all. It all comes across extremely biter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I can't speak for Wetherby regarding this particular tournament, but that is rather unfair. If I am quiet on threads it's because I am not paying much attention to the tournament, not because Judd is on a roll . I only watched Higgins' two matches and that was about it.

For what it's worth, well done to Judd, he seemed to play great from what I saw in the scores. He gave Ronnie a good hiding and fired in a bunch of centuries. I am now nervous he will beat John to 1000, but he will probably finish his career with the most ever anyway.

I don't think you should take our comments about Judd too personal, most of the time its just banter.

Viva that's fair enough mate. I admit I probably do get a bit too defensive over Judd. I honestly have no issues with the banter etc.
I may not be a fan of Higgins but I obviously have a lot of respect for what he's achieved in the game.

I've praised Judd many times,, & he's won 29 ranking titles, but he's almost 35, & by 35 Ronnie has 3 world titles,, John 4, Selby had 3 at 33, world titles give you a place on the top table, Trump knows this, & 4 triple crown titles is criminal with his talent..

Judd shouldn't be compared to Ronnie or Hendry or Davis, I don't think anyone has ever said he is as good as them. In fact no current players that are around Judds age or younger have achieved anywhere near what Judd has achieved. Over 95% of the current players on tour would happily take Judds career now. Judd if anything was just an average top 6 player between 2012-2018, Many people questioned whether he would win a world championship. He burst on the scene in 2011 but was very inconsistent for a number of years. He has reached his peak since 2019 aged 29. People seem to think his career is over aged 35 and think he won't win more world titles. Evidently if we look at the triple crown winners during the the last 6 years it looks like this which kind of shows how people exaggerate about Judds "poor triple crown record" especially considering he wasn't in his peak before 2019.

Most triple crown titles from January 2018- Present
Ronnie O'Sullivan- 5
Judd Trump- 3
Mark Allen- 2
Neil Robertson- 2
Mark Selby- 1
Mark Williams- 1
Kyren Wilson- 1
Luca Brecel - 1
Ding Junhui- 1
Zhao Xintong- 1
Yan Bingtao- 1
Stuart Bingham- 1

Just to clarify by "current" players I mean players that are currently around Judds age i.e. Mark Allen, Ding Junhi, Kyren Wilson etc

But this is Judd's pomp?

Kyren wins the Xian Grand Prix. He beat Judd 10-8 in the final every single close frame Kyren won which was the difference. Judd is now world number 1 but losing that final is a huge disappointment.

Well played Kyren

posted on 26/8/24

Thought Kyren might struggle after winning the worlds, but in this tournament you can't argue with those results, beat Ronnie and Judd in the semis and final. Well done Kyren.

Well done to Judd for regaining the World Number 1 spot.

Nice consistent work from Allen to get it in the first place, but he needs to push on now.

Saudi Masters is on now. Although the top 16 players don't play until Tuesday. The prize money for the winner is £500,000 so world number 1 spot very much up for grabs!

Judd 4-0 down and wins 5-4 I only watched frames 7 and 8.

John out already. Its inevitable Judd will get 1000 centuries before him.

Dings tip came off when he was on a break in the decider. He still potted the black but the top fell off and hit a red so it was a foul. Bingham then made a frame winning break. Never seen that happen before!

I wish I hadn't read that - I mean that takes bad luck to a new level................

I see thousands are watching Trump this lunchtime 😂, he's playing his bunny too, Lisowski is a joke

Apparently Judd said this:

Judd Trump: ‘There is a different kind of buzz similar to the Crucible here and everyone has hoped this would happen to snooker. Some of the events in the Home Nations apart from Northern Ireland feel a bit second tier in how they are set up. You can feel the excitement here.’

Im not sure who he is kidding.

He's like Ronnie, say anything to get money, I'm surprised they aren't playing dressed like Arabs, anyway, at least Trump faces a decent player in Robbo next round.. Lisowski is pathetic.? & the crowd... 2 men & a dog... Like the Crucible... Do me a favour Trumpton

😂 Ronnie has been pictured dressed as an arab, if that is an appropriate term these days
