Spain absolutely deserved it not only for tonight but throughout the tournament but ffs England had the game to win after the Palmer goal and we sat back to defend rather than taking advantage of being in the ascendancy. Thank fvck Southgate is gone.

Can’t knock finishing runners up. Not sure we deserved to lose the game, but a few big names didn’t step up.

Fully deserving winners on the night and over the whole tournament. Won 7 out of 7, including Italy, hosts Germany, favourites France, and England. That’s as deserving as it gets. The runners up basically beat nobody of note, and even spawned their way through that, if we’re all being honest.

Yep they have a stack of talent that bave blossomed into winners.

Before the tournament squads were announced, if England played Spain then most people on here would've picked Grealish, Foden and Saka as likely goalscorers rather than Willia.s and Oyarzabal, but Spain have had the most balanced team all tournament and that comes down to better management.

It's also great for Spain that their goalscorers play for Bilbao and Sociedad rather than the two big clubs. In fact I think Sociedad had more players in the squad than Madrid and Barca.

Both Basque clubs rely heavily on their academy systems to stay competitive in La Liga, and the Basque Country has traditionally been one of the hotbeds of Spanish football.
