Sorry Spanish, don't mean to be facetious, serious question - Is English your first language or did you misread what I actually wrote?

oooh sorry mate... I think I've read the very bit from your name

English is my first language, not that I'm great it tho

Non of us on here can have claimed to have attended Stratford Upon Avon Grammar School about 450 years ago and then subsequently changed the English language! - cheers Spanish.

It's a debating site - Batty can say exactly what he wants with regards to Football.

I for one think on balance, Paddy has been poor value for money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not agreeing or disagreeing on Bamford himself.... just that it ain't a 'debate' when you hear the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over .....

....if my wife did that I'd be telling HER to give it a rest !! Admittedly, she wouldn't take that too well and carry on doing it just to make the point. Suspect that might happen here.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Reminds me of this tale:

An old hillbilly farmer called Eric had a wife who nagged him unmercifully. From morning til night (and sometimes later), she was always complaining about something.
The only time he got any relief was when he was out ploughing his fields with his old mule. He tried to plough a lot. One day, when he was out ploughing, his wife brought him lunch in the field. He drove the old mule into the shade, sat down on a stump, and began to eat his lunch.
Immediately, his wife began pestering him. Complain, nag, nag; it just went on and on. All of a sudden, the old mule lashed out with both hind feet; caught her smack in the back of the head.
Killed her dead on the spot.

At the funeral several days later, the minister noticed something rather odd. When a woman mourner would approach Eric, he would listen for a minute, then nod his head in agreement; but when a male mourner approached him, he would listen for a minute, then shake his head in disagreement. This was so consistent, the minister decided to ask Eric about it.

So after the funeral, the minister spoke to Eric, and asked him why he nodded his head and agreed with the women, but always shook his head and disagreed with all the men.

Eric said, “Well, the women would come up and say something about how nice my wife looked, or how pretty her dress was, so I’d nod my head in agreement. “And what about the men?” the minister asked.
“They wanted to know if the mule was for sale.”

After shifting 1/2 the garden yesterday, back feels like it was active 450 years ago.

As for the debate around Paddy .... it's all much ado about nothing ........

For me he's capable of playing well, but too often is just a comedy of errors.

Just back to the squad … it seems to me that we’re either running a risk here hoping that Gnoto, Cree (etc?) don’t go, or we know they won’t in which case it would be nice to hear something from the club in this respect (“this is now our settled squad for the new season&rdquo.

If we do end up with late transfers out and subsequent holes in the squad, the 49ers will deserve all the criticism that will come their way.

---------------

- about two weeks ago I created another patio in my back garden, I did this by moving 6 paving slabs about 10 feet.. was shattered - I had no idea these slabs would be that heavy...

my first thought was who the hell laid these in the first place .. the whole estate has about 30 of these each in their gardens... I'm a regular gym goer, very, very fit for my forties, but we must have had Eddie Hall working on the gardens when they were built

as for Bamford... I just think its prob time to move on for him and us now... but I don;t think he's close to being 'poor value', 7m quid for 6 years service... and 3 of those years he really was a massive part of our team

I agree ... probably time for him to move on, but I doubt on his wages he will. I just hope he can have some level of prolonged fitness - if he can he offers something to the team.

We need another pandemic, close the stands and play without crowds. He'll bang in 20+ goals and we'll get promoted .............

...and that would not be fair.
As I've said before, we're shopping in the 'Premier-League-Ready" market...and that seldom opens till last two weeks of August, ie. AFTER our season has started. Am 99% convinced there will be 2-4 player movements in/out during that time.

We were once promoted and got accused of starting the pandemic, not sure what we'll be accused of if we're promoted again, especially if Bamford plays his part!.

I believe it's £70k now ...... just read a stat - he's earned over £14.5m as a Leeds player (that'll have Batty choking on his beer).

I seriously should've trained harder as a kid ....

70k a week ? , surely not??? - I thought was about 35k a week.

yeah I mean for his 'role' in the squad now I do think thats way overpaid.

could understand it under Bielsa, was a premier league player and our fist choice number 9, 70k prob about fair for that time.

not now tho ....

This is an interesting article, Paddy and Georgi are our highest earners as VOF says £70k a week.
Wasn't long ago that we were paying Modou Barrow £20k a week.
Inflation and who?

70k was his Premier League wages.

circa 50% reduction in championship hence why those with a loan clause left sharply, and why those with a loan clause continuation have left sharply again.

The 49ers can’t have their cake and eat it. Last year’s debacle was all the fault of Orta’s ridiculous contracts apparently (notwithstanding the fact that Marathe was in situ at that time).

No, the 49ers are now fully responsible for this season’s transfer dealings and need to be held to account accordingly.

Marathe was in situ at that time, but, in't it funny the way part owners have a boss that has more to say!..

The 49ers were not the main owners so couldn't do more than they did, now they're to blame if things go wrong, but it has to be said, with those dumbass, (Orta’s) deals in place, they brought some decent players in, and at the moment there is nothing to say they can't bring more in!..

AR tried to get Cellino to pay 50% to a transfer budget that he wanted to do, but Cellino refused it, he said that it'd be worst than throwing money down his drug hole he used to sit on in his private Elland Road cubicle!..

Cellino didn't have to do anything because at the time he was the main owner so AR didn't have a proper say!..

Exactly! When he signed his £70k a week contract his stock was high. He would have taken a 50% wage cut after relegation and at £35k a week he probably thought “I’ll take that unless something better comes up”. By that time his stock was much lower so he is still our player (or we are stuck with him as some would say).

I just listened to the full interview with DF following the Harrogate game (https://www.leedsunited.com/en/news/daniel-farke-we-are-on-a-good-path) and towards the end of the interview he talks about the possibility of a ‘some incomings’. He then goes on to talk about Wober et al coming back and I wasn’t sure if he might have been referring to them … but then he repeats that there might be ‘perhaps also a few incomings’.

I hope we get any deals done asap now.
