Yep, let’s hope the club can suitably incentivise them to stay … “if we’re not top by January, we’ll sell you then” sort of thing👍

I can understand a bit of caution with our history but I am optimistic about our chances as we stand right now. Ideally we'd keep Cry, Willie and Georgie. If we do that I'd be extremely confident. If say Cry goes providing it is not an 11th hour Sinestera type scenario and the money was reinvested that would still work.

In pre-season it is hard to measure the standard of the opposition etc but I like the agressive pressing from the front, the rotation of our squad and some moves to looking at different systems so we are not as predictable to set up against. It all adds up to a lot anticipation for the new season.

Arronson and sober coming back add players in a couple of positions we are missing.

I'd like another full back, however we are not a premiership team awash with cash so having two options for every position isn't realistic really and Byrqm is more than a capable of acting as cover on both sides.

I love Gray and think he will be a world superstar, however I don't see how Bogle is going to be a downgrade on a teenage midfielder at right back so I'm happy there.

I think overall the squad is as strong, maybe stronger than the one that got 90 points last year so overall I'm happy and think we have a really good chance of promotion on the second attempt

Think well walk it. I was a bit concerned about a playoff hangover causing us to slip up in our early games but our pre season form seems to have removed that worry somewhat. Felt after the playoff defeat that we'd get promoted with less points this time, but now, given we've so far kept the big 3 (Cry, Rutter, Gnonto) we could actually do even better.

I still think Summerville & Gnonto will go but i'm ok with that as long as we're ready & have replacements identified. I believe we have.

The one we can't afford to lose is Rutter. Our season went terminally south with his hernia operation. Fortunately the only sources saying Brighton are still interested are the clickbait ones. The club don't want to sell him & it's clear he loves it at Leeds. Can't see anyone coming in with a high enough offer anyway. With last season behind him it's frightening how good he could be this time.

Our top three players are 100 million worth of quality other teams don’t have. Losing any of them will affect the quality of our team, but WAS is right, we have to keep Georgie. He looks like he is ready for lift off and he could tear this league apart.I don’t think Brighton is the problem, though. If teams like City or Arsenal come in for him, he’s gone.

have to agree with what most have said above.

one thing that is frustrating, along with what other teams have to face also, is with a week to go before we kick off for another season squads are changing across the board.

It would surely be far more sensible to have transfer windows closed before the season.

anyone have any insight as to why this is?

yup never understood why the window does not shut at least a week before the season starts, some numpty will have a positive spin on the reason why

Not sure about the romping it Kammy, we are most people's favourites but there are a few other teams that might prove tricky.
Burnley are quite fancied as are Luton and I have seen both Sheffield clubs mentioned but we struggled against Coventry last season, they have a really good coach in Mark Robbins and you cannot help but sit their result against Everton.
