Connor Gallagher to Atletico

The way Chelsea have treated Gallagher is an absolute disgrace.

Hopefully potential signings will realise they will be treated like Garbage if the club decides they no longer want them

posted on 5/8/24

Bit strong to honest, the club have offered him several contract options over the last 12 months.

He has turned them down, so treating him like garbage is not a well thought out informed comment.

Best of luck Conor, and I know they will love him in Madrid. He also will love Madrid ,a good move mate.

offering a 24 year old who played more minutes than any other Chelsea player last season a 2 year extension is pretty insincere

clearly did not really want him to stay so they could cash in

Genuinely rate Gallagher. People make out he's just a Milner/McTominay running merchant, but his quality on the ball is quite underrated.

Be a great, great player under Simeone.

Chelsea may regret this.

Flash, finished,? as a top flight elite competition club , agreed for the foreseeable future

But imo, not in the long term.

Well , its clear the club have decided they prefer to cash him in, but I think this more about the clubs financial FFP/ PSR responsibilities & future strategy than anything else.

Whole thing is quite baffling to be honest!

Signing Dewsbury Hall for £30m, selling Gallagher for £35m and then being linked to Matt O'Riley from Celtic.

yeah, are they trying to reinvent the wheel?

Chelsea have treated him badly but it’s not like he’s going to be a big miss. Terribly average

Treated him badly?

How do you come by that view?

The club have been open to selling him since last summer, he has been aware of that, the club have also offered him 2/3 contract offers which he turned down.

The club did not want to sell him to a rival, he had such a good season, last season he has now earnt himself an excellent move, increased wages,C/L football ect ect. The club have cleared 33m for a player in his final contract year.

That is not bad treatment, although,it is a great shame that the club did not value him as important enough to retain him.

It is more a statement that reflects the direction of the club at the moment. sideways , not up !

Club captain? He was 3rd choice captain.

posted on 5/8/24

Well, im sure when he wore the arm band he lead the team with the appropriate level of maturity and pride.

First , second or third choice

Our first choice captain is about to go into another season on a 3 game ban , after spending the majority of the last 2 seasons on the treatment table.

Great leadership qualities!

Gallagher kept his mouth shut over the penalty taker debacle. Was only a captain because of the arm band

I must say, having been made aware of that hateful thread by another user, I really do feel sorry for the likes of Christopher.

To dedicate an entire thread to censoring me because he doesn't like my opinions is just wrong. Not to mind overly obsessive. Also, I won't mention all of the lies contained within it that are just simply fake news.

At times you come on here and you really do see the very worst of humanity. The forum needs to be about positive debate, not hatred and poison.

Users need to use the forum to chat footie, not argue and turn it into Lord Of The Flies ffs.

Embarrassing on his part and he should take the article down.

RTM,

Personally I think he represented the club honourably when he played & was asked to step up, he always put in 100%.

Which is as much as we can ask, imo the squad will be weaker without him.

As i understand it Gallaher captained CFC for about 25/ 30 games over his 95 appearance career at CFC.

Im not sure what you mean, As to your opinion he was only captain because of arm band?
