That's awful news. He was my favourite England player growing up. Did not know he was ill cos he was coaching recently.
Very sad news ,a great player and man, so young.
55 is no age
RIP Graham Thorp
Great cricketer and outstanding individual he was. Shocked to learn he was no more. RIP.
He was a fantastic player who played in a miserable era for English cricket. A stylish batsman with great determination, he was a favourite player.

What a great batsman he was.
Shocking news, 55 is far too young to go.
RIP 🌹
Watched his test career from the start, a terrific cricketer, could play any type of innings against any bowlers, even the Aussies respected him
Best 11 Thorpe played with below. I've mostly focused on players that he played with for a decent number of years. James Anderson being the exception.
Atherton
Trescothick
Butcher
Hussain
Thorpe
Stewart
Flintoff
Giles
Caddick
Gough
Anderson
I might have Tuffers in that team
More shocker that he took his own life. Graceful personality, strong family and outstanding career yet he was afflicted with mental illness.
He was easily English best player in 90's.
Maybe Gooch from 1990 - 1994, but Thorpe was a brilliant player
Jumped in front of a train, tragic set of circumstances
RIP
He was unlucky to miss out on selection for the 2005 Ashes. They had 2 spots between him Bell and KP.
IIRC Bell had played against Bangladesh in the first test of the summer and scored a lot of runs and got the nod.

Especially for the train driver
This was actually Graham thorpe's second attempt at suicide he tried two years ago ended up in intensive care for a long time... Unsure what he did before... You have to think he's been failed somewhere, but hasn't helped himself maybe
