Hey, saw odds and sods, will watch properly later.
No evidence of asset stripping.
Previous ownership was prudent, spending within means whilst building manageable debt.
£45m spent in the Championship winning season. £355m in the EPL of which circa £190m remains outstanding on player purchase instalments/loan fees, etc.
Shirt front sponsors hugely less valuable below EPL level. On average can drop a zero from the end of an annual sponsorship income figure.
Leeds not on Kevin Maguire's list of teams about whom he would have financial concerns.
Big player sales, such as Archie, the way Spurs work, as they did when buying Madison, probably mean 3 lump sums over a couple of years rather than one lump income sum. Either that or Spurs would generally negotiate a lower agreed fee if payment required without staggering.
Probably not much in my post that most wouldn't already know, but generally positive in terms of nothing to worry about but goes towards explaining why 49ers are not going gung ho having made a couple of sales.
Like I say, was listening on and off for about 15 minutes whilst doing others things so apologies if my interpretation is not that of anyone else who was listening.
Looks forward to hearing bits I missed from anyone else who listened.
MOT.
My main take was how disappointing it was to hear the Red Bull sponsorship for the privilege of having their logo blazened on all the team strips was only £3 million per season where I and I'm sure many others were under the impression they'd coughed up £60 million so that
certainly explains why we're not in as good a financial
situation as we'd imagined to go splashing out on
expensive new signings.
Having said all that though, we still appear to be under
sensible enough financial governance not to hinder our
chances of getting promoted and compared to the rest
of the Championship teams we certainly have the biggest turnover and bigger than half the EPL teams too, but I'd say if we don't get automatic promotion this season then I think we'll struggle to get out of this league for many years to come as I'd imagine we will lose half the first team to balance the books next season so no pressure then Daniel.
The shirt sponsorship value should reflect the club, not the division. Without wanting to fck anyone off by using examples, I am going to anyway, let's say Bournemouth. Why should sponsorship of their shirts be worth 10x sponsorship of Leeds'? EPL exposure argument aside, I can guarantee that I will see a Leeds shirt on my hols next week, not an AFCB one. Also likely we will have more TV appearances than them next season.

Because the Premier League is broadcast to millions around the world, whereas the EPL broadcasts to a few hundred thousand hardcore fans in the UK. It's just the economics and why unfortunately those in the Premier League will generrally get richer whilst those in the Championship get poorer increasing the chasm between to the two divisions.
Spurs hit grays release clause so I'd imagine it's all upfront.
After all if you have only paid a third of the fee but said you will pay more later then you haven't actually triggered it as you havent handed over the money needed to trigger the clause
I can guarantee that I will see a Leeds shirt on my hols next week

Sounds good to me! Where are you out of interest? We land on Saturday 2 hours before kick off V Pompey and it will therefore be a race to grab the cases and find a sports bar - worst case scenario will be LUTV on the phone!

Guarantee there'll be others - look forward to finding a sports bar for the Wednesday game, if not Saturday. Last season, I was in Rhodes for the Sunderland game and there were 17 ( yes I counted ) Leeds fans in for the drab 0-0. Have a good holiday.

Thank you! Definitely looking a bit toasty!!
I do like a bit of shirt spotting, and the different ways others fans react to eachother. We're all human beings underneath the shirt and good spirited banter is part of the fun of being a fan.
Salonika - that was my major takeaway also - verified what we all suspected
Getting a seat at the top table, once back in the top flight means we are fighting for 6th , 7th at best.
The point was made that PSR rules won't change any time soon to a degree that the Man Citys of this world won't be starting the season with several hundred million more to spend within PSR limits, due to their existing revenue streams. I think the example was a head start of 300 Million over Newcastle.
Unsurprisingly it was stated, UEFA are not going to push for change as they are paranoid about a break away EURO League.

I had a season ticket (for one season) for Watford (it was enough!). Also for Roda in Holland and Sporting Lisbon. Wherever I travelled I'd try to follow the local side. Chose Sporting rather then Benfica as the Benfica shirt was more red and the Roda home strip was a sort of yellow which gave me the Leeds away vibe .....
