I don't know how true this is but it could explain some players not wanting to leave without a fight!

They want to bring in more players, they know they need too but selling players with a year to go on their contracts is not that easy or lucrative. A number of Utd players negotiated a clause in their contract that if the club extended their contract by a year to protect resale value, the player gets half of the fee. None of this is INEOS’s fault, they are trying to clean up a mess they inherited but there are many different factors why Utd can’t sell as well as other clubs.

There was a bit of news from the City apologist and FFP guy Stefan Borson earlier where he suggested that United should have failed FFP last season.

United were given special leeway for the period which incorporated covid losses. United were allowed to claim £40m for certain covid losses, whilst most other teams were given much much less. Apparently.

As I said I am sceptical, purely because the Glazers would be giving money away, but the incompetence of the last decade has me thinking all sorts of things. I just need this mindset to end already!

It’s not just that, I’ve grown to learn that where United and social media are concerned a hell of a lot of it isn’t reliable or reasonable. It’s an easy way to drive engagement to come up with crap like this because as so many know we’re incompetent, and hate the Glazers, many people will find it believable.

Yes, you are probably right, it is a stretch to think that it is the case with this clause but I'm not completely ruling it out either! Gives me a chance to be angry at Woodward and Co one more time I suppose!

You can just remind yourself that we spent £145m on Maguire, AWB and James and that two of them are still under contract, if wanna get angry at them again.
