everything about that was wrong, and i know i go on about "jobs for the boys" but this was the epitome of it imo.

it was clearly not working in the 10 in a row season and they let it go on and on for "lennys treble" because "he deserved it", that was more important to them than 10, their pal was more important than the club, than the fans.

they don't get it.

Apparently £25M + 10% sell on fee for MOR to Brighton. All the noise is that he's interested in the move and both clubs to agree in the next 24 hours.

Mad rumour that Man City are interest in Kyogo

That's the maddest rumour in a while

Rumour mill all over the place

Kyogo to City
Hatate to Leicester - they wouldn’t dare . Not that I believe it.

posted on 21/8/24

i think they would.

football is secondary to finance, every player has a price.

they absolutely would.

I'm with you on this - if it happens then so be it but it should have happened weeks ago to allow us to properly scout replacements.

My concern with our board is they are so desperate to eek out every penny from a deal we miss out on replacing players with quality.

Players move on and I accept that but 10 days from the end of the transfer window for me means we better have players lined up that we are just waiting on the dominos to fall.

Do I believe we have the dominos lined up? No, we are reactive, not proactive

Though I wouldn't be against us approaching Chelsea for Chilwell either on loan or for a manageable fee

posted on 21/8/24

we could get chilwell.

or we could sign beck, a young project player who might get good enough that we could sell on for a profit...

experienced pro, or gamble.

its a no brainer really, beck it is.

posted on 21/8/24

We will have the dominoes stacked and they will move once the O’Reilly deal is all but sealed.

Of course we will. The board deserve strong criticism but let’s not make them out to be wholly negligent

posted on 21/8/24

they are negligent in football affairs mate.

i do not care for them.

Would like Chilwell, better than what we have but have a feeling he might want to stay in the EPL and what would his wages be? even on loan they would need heavy subsidy would they not?

When MOR does leave I have to believe the club will have signing/s damn near prepped and good to go, fingers heavy crossed though

Headed to the car park right now. I’ll see you guys there in a bit.

why was the dependent on o'riley leaving though?

why?

is the money not there?

were we not looking to improve unless o'riley left?

it's not good enough.

Oh I agree on MOR leaving or staying there could/should have been more movement with transfers but don't know what has, or hasn't happened on that front as I dont have any reliable info from that level, sorry, my point was that when MOR does go there will be perhaps more urgent moves made but as I always felt he would be away I do agree that so far it's been dissapointing with transfers coming in

Sorry forgot it was Wednesday

What car park is it this week?

i'm not convinced there will be, maybe the usual late flutter of deals they manage to miraculously to do quickly when it takes 3 weeks any other time.

most clubs wont be keen on selling anyone they rate this late in the window.

except us of course, because u know, then we "ran out of time"

posted on 21/8/24

Trying to stay positive.......poster boy for the transfer policy...... bought for £1.5m......sold for £25m+. That is to be applauded but will only get you so far with fickle fans where apathy & disgruntlement reign if suitable replacement (s) can't be sourced.

Kyogo is surely way down a Man City list..........a 3rd or 4th contingency.......Gundogan is top of that list and I can see it happening.

I'd have thought his shoulder issues would be a red flag for most teams. Sure Brenda said he'd be out for four months if he gets surgery?

Yeh the history with incoming transfers hasn't been great last few years but I'm one of those facking eternal optimists and hope we can take advantage of the cash situation we have atm and go and get some players that create a bigger domestic gap and help us improve in Europe

I'll probs be in tears though

Get this TW closed ta feck, scundered dunno why I put any faith into our board, never effing learn.

posted on 21/8/24

if we move late in the window i'll still be annoyed because we are weeks behind as far as i'm concerned, all to save a few weeks wages.

the manager is frustrated, the fans are frustrated, but yet the board hit out with crap like "we would have liked to have done more", thats on them.

O'Riley yeah expect that to happen, Reo don't think that will happen this window, but the Kyogo one is left field, refuse to believe it will happen but knowing our hoarding board they will be loving it to happen.

If the board were really on the ball, they’d have seen the increasingly tough FFP coming. They would have realised that regular matchday revenue is even more important as an actual constraint on wages that can be paid than now. They would have improved our infrastructure at Celtic park (where we generate the vast majority of our revenue through ticket sales) with a small share issue (we’ve not had one in ages) and rebuilt the main stand to make the total capacity 67k. They would have built a dedicated media centre so we would not have to use a tent for media events for European games. They would have consolidated our advantage over the rangers for the foreseeable future, and by increasing revenue given us space to grow and to pay the youngsters a better wage to stop all our talent being swept up by overseas clubs. They would have developed a proper modern football operating structure where we have succession planning in key positions on and off the pitch. They would have proper cash levels proportionate to the size of the club, not piles of cash sitting in a bank account doing next to sod all. I really struggle with the suggestion the board haven’t been wholly negligent.
