Gotta be last chance saloon surely.....
I mean I know it's only the first game but Plymouth look seriously woeful and I reckon had we played them yesterday instead of Portmouth we'd have had to declare at half time to be merciful.
Guessing a Watford manager holds the record?
I remember Paul Hart coming and going in quick time at QPR - not sure that was Championship. Alex McLeish at Forest was about a month I think?
Didn't Leroy Rosenior get sacked the same day he took over a team? Wasn't championship, but definitely a strange situation
But, yeah, Rooney won't make Christmas.
Steve Coppell was a weird situation I remember I think it was with Man City. Accepted the job then complained about health issues being a factor as to why he couldn't carry on and a few days later is back managing C.Palace as right as rain....I probably got a few details wrong but think that was the general gist of a manager having a brief tenure which I reckon Rooney is already fighting an uphill battle to avoid further humiliation regarding his managerial record.
Win% of 26 before kick off

Who on earth thought it would be a good idea to give this man a job never mind a fourth attempt.
Didn't Dave Bassett take over Palace then walk out a couple of days later as well?
Be close between him and Farke, who gets sacked first
I always fail to understand why these ‘young modern managers’ all have to try and play tiki taka footie when they’ve got shyite players.
Rooney’s better off playing direct, Stoke City/type football to begin with (to get the best from his squad and results) and then bringing in a style of player over a number of years when he can start signing players.
Be close between him and Farke, who gets sacked first
^^^
Might be a first, I'm with you on this.
Looks like Farke's learned nothing from last season.
Feel sorry for Roonsey....

See this kind of stuff annoys me. How about giving us (Wednesday) the credit instead? Yes Plymouth were poor but maybe that's because we were very good. We had a Xg of 4.85 which is more than any team managed in the Championship last season. We also had 30 shots and 62 touches in the opposition box. The only player who didn't create a chance was our keeper.
Portsmouth came up last season and scored 3 goals away from home at the bookies favourite for promotion. However, what I keep hearing (not from everyone on here) is how poor Leeds were. Again, how about giving Portsmouth the credit.
We all know how difficult and unpredictable the Championship is. It's what makes it such a great league. I honestly think that 20 of the 24 teams will have aspirations for top 10/playoffs.
Enjoy the ride but please give credit where it's due.
Sloppy, I watch the whole game.
Sheff Wed were very good.

Farke will not get sacked, we will be good enough and our owners wouldn't know it if he wasn't a good coach. Things will have to go really badly wrong for Farke to be sacked, more chance of him walking because they sell all of his best players in my opinion.

Yes I meant no offence to Shef Wed Sloppy I only saw the last 20 mins of your game and was aghast at how poor and uncharacteristicly disorganised compared to last season Plymouth looked and also in comparison to Portsmouth yesterday who I thought based on my brief observations Leeds would have fared far more favourably against Plymouth than they did against
Pompey but obviously I forgot to acknowledge the quality of Shef Wed in making Plymouth look so poor which I realise your side is well capable of mounting a serious challenge for the top 6 and Leeds will have to play at their very best to get a result so I hope that clears any unintentional perceived arrogance on my behalf because believe me I never take any team for granted in the Championship and know you have to respect every side you face but having said all that Plymouth did look utter shyyyte...no offence to Plymouth fans!!!
LOL Preston manager gone this morning after one game
congratulations to wazza on beating the odds and not being the first manager sacked this season

Sacked by one Peter Risdale no less.
Had the "privilege" of being within spitting distance of Shaun Harvey on Saturday too. (no i didn't spit!)
Looks like the old Leeds terrors are still going strong.
The attraction of people like Rooney, Gerard and Lampard isn't that they are good coaches, they are not, their records speak for themselves, it is that they have that x-factor, they attract attention, maybe in terms of investment, maybe in terms of the kind of players who drawn to playing for the club.
He will not last long but long enough to serve a purpose.
Hopefully the money he brings into the club will more than cover his wages and the cost of sacking him.
Preston Manager Ryan Lowe asked to leave PNE.
Club granted his request. More mutual than a sacking.
Rooney can still be the first sacking (and probably will).
