Personally i had hoped he would run his contract down and negotiate a new much improved deal.
His influence in the dressing room is worth its weight in gold.
But this ownership, do not see all that he offers as being as valuable as the fee.
I think it says everything we need to know about this ownerships view and understanding of how to run Chelseafc unfortunately.
Imo, any club with serious ambition to succeed at a top 6 level need players like him, over untried and inexperienced youth prospects.

Totally agree your comments... they and ultimately us fans, will rue the day CG left Chelsea. There is a very slight outside chance this disastrous decision might still be reversed...but not holding my breath.
