and to think many were touting us as 1 of the favourites to go up
If we are being really serious it’s not. We have had many moments over the abyss years that are worse than this.
I understand though - it feels worse due to the fact this appears to be a realisation at present that we are sinking back towards that abyss again. We were at last realising all that sleeping giant potential under Bielsa and when we got to 9th place we thought we were back to an extent. Big enough to become established in the top flight and ready for investment to perhaps take us further. Roll on a few years and it’s all gone so badly wrong again. Last year of parachute payments and players leaving and we now don’t have enough players for a 19-man squad. Feels like we are in a whirlpool and only a huge big saving hand from the phoney9ers can change the direction we are going. 4 swift competent signings could bring back the hope and give us a chance of promotion. Let’s go get Jack Clarke back. He should be number one priority now. Can play on either wing. Jon Rowe we can afford now. Asprilla or Chair could add some central skills. The premier loan market will open soon. We have to be active here.
All we can do at present is try to keep our nerves for the next 2 weeks. If at the end of the deadline we don’t have the team promised then let the protests against the owners begin.
k, he said 'the worst feeling' not the worst situation
Not strengthening after going 2nd in champ under bates.
Not strengthening when monk got us to top end of champ.
No need to sell, then selling.
Not supporting Bielsa in second season etc etc
I’ve said it for many years, bad owners beget bad owners. It’s almost as if outgoing owner tells inbound owner how to milk the club.
It’s incredible that we’re 2 matches in and feel it’s end of world, that is how much negative impact these few weeks have been.
And for all the comments of inbound players saying “the moment I heard it was Leeds I jumped at chsnce discounting other clubs” I’d really like to hear a player like Rutter say “clause was activated but I love it here I’m going to stay and do all I can to get us up”
No disrespect to Rutter, careers are short but point is, none of these outbound players feel there is the right future ahead of them here otherwise they would stay.

Yes. I think we have had plenty more worse feelings than this. Situations produce feelings?
All this stuff, plus other media notes about the likes of Wober (less bothered), Struijk (more bothered), Gnonto (bothered) being linked away, just adds to the increasing bad vibe around the club. That dressing room must be awful at the moment i'd imagine.
Personally on Wednesday i thought Wober looked pretty much uninterested, now has an injury so likely not available for WBA.
Whatever the team, whatever the squad come close of the transfer window though, i won't turn on them if results and league position suffers. They're the ones left, they're the ones wearing the shirt.
It's the hierarchy, not the players (or Farke to a great extent - though i'm not convinced by tactics/subs), who need any ire. It's the contract king and the shysters running the asylum.

Remember feeling despondent when we were selling Healy.
When kasper went for peanuts.
When Norwich bought half our team.
We’ve had it for years.
There are no excuses after this one. No more selling needed, no excuses not to buy players, stop all the nonsense about people know we have money, it’s excuse after excuse made for owners.
Every other club manages to buy players.
When Prem clubs come knocking, and the player wants to go, it´s really an impossible situation for the club.
Can´t fault them though, for wanting to play at the highest level.
This is the price you pay for not getting promoted. We all knew this could happen.
Midt-table at best

Was thinking the same
We've been through the mixer so many times you would think we would get immune to another crisis but you just don't.
It really hurts and although we have been in worse situations this one should and could have been avoidable.
How do we keep getting so many corrupt and incompetent owners ??
I think one of the issues is that other clubs have issues but Leeds always seem to have more, through bad owners, bad on field/ off field decisions. We seem to suffer more than most, clearly not as much as a Bury for example, but usually following Leeds involves lots of negative factors and more than most other clubs.
Bottom line is, we are still, after all these years, feeling the affects of atrocious decisions made circa the turn of the millenium.
The consquences were so bad, the vacuum created allowed a parade of poor to bad fit owners get their hands on our beloved club.
I'm trying to give the 49'ers the benefit of the doubt, but events of recent days are testing my resolve. Lets hope the lie of the land has improved somewhat come 1st September.
If only we had won that playoff final....
